Not Perfect, But Pretty Darn Good

This is my 1st bidet seat and, really, my 1st bidet experience. Conclusion: where’ve you been all my life? I did my research and determined that the JX2 was the one to try. I’ve been using it for a solid 6 months now, and I’ve gotten quite used to it. I’m disappointed if I have to use the other bathroom now. The JX2 was part of a comprehensive bathroom renovation. My fist mistake was going with a round instead of elongated commode bowl. There are a few reasons for this, but suffice it to say, I definitely recommend the elongated over the round, if you have the choice. The beeping: yes, there is a faint “beep” when I sit down (and, I think, also when I stand up.) This can be turned off by plugging in the JX2 while depressing a button on the seat. I’ve found that the house power invariably gets interrupted within days of me doing this, though, and when it comes back on, the seat defaults to beeping again. So, I’ve just gotten used to the beeping. This one’s not that loud. (But it’s still dumb that it beeps. Who needs a toilet seat that beeps? Everything beeps these days. It’s maddening.) The bidet-ing itself is pleasant and effective overall. Sometimes I run concurrent cycles, just to be sure. I recommend pressing the bidet button twice, which gets the wand to do a slight, back-and-forth, scrubbing motion. It was interesting to me to experience changing the water temperature on-the-fly. You push the temp button and that water temperature instantly changes. Speaking of, Alpha should be able to figure out a way to have the initial blast of water be as warm as the rest of it, because it ain’t. It is ALWAYS frigid-cold, just for a second, long enough to make me make a face, and then it’s pleasant. One thing I have noticed recently, temperature-wise, is that the water isn’t always as warm as it was. Maybe my wife is fidgeting with the temp control (which I doubt because she likes everything hotter than I like it), or maybe it’s because the incoming water is much colder than it was in the summer and fall. Regardless, I’ve had some cooler than expected bidets this winter. My wife has complained that, although the wand’s position can be adjusted, she still can’t get it to move far enough forward to be useful in the female application. I have had the same issue at the opposite end. When I’m ready to bidet, even after I draw the wand back as far as it will go, I still have to scoot a little “too” forward on the seat to feel optimally situated. Here is where the elongated bowl and seat (as opposed to the round) could have solved a lot. The drying feature could get warmer faster, which I think would help it not to take so long. I don’t feel the warmth (which could be warmer) until it’s at least a third of the way into its cycle, maybe half way. Before that, it’s just like a cool breeze. It gets high marks for aim though, good aim, just slow to dry. My wife likes the heated seat function, though I could do without it. We both like the night-light feature. I don’t even have to turn the bathroom light on in the middle of the night anymore. I can see everything I need to see. If I was to suggest anything to Alpha, like if they asked me, I’d maybe recommend a model with a throttle on the side, like driving a boat, something you could pull back on to crank up the water pressure. I’d buy that (and maybe a Captain’s hat to wear with it).

Absolutely the greatest

I was skeptical at first of how good they would clean, but it exceeded my expectations. Very easy to use a warm seat, hot water and a refreshing feel every time. My girlfriend absolutely loves it. Once she positioned it for the front cleansing perfectly. She came in the living room and told me she did not need me anymore, ha ha. I use the rear wash even when I don't need to just to stay fresh. Loved it so much. I bought my son and daughter in law one and recommended it to my stepdad and he has also, purchased one. I also showed it to my brother and he said he is going to purchase one.If you don't have one, you must get one. The only thing you may need toilet paper for is to lightly dab off excess water, so that the drying fan can work more effectively to dry you..

Satisfied with purchase

Having surgery so thought i would get this to simply things. Never had one before. Works well. Instant warm water. Dryer works well. Front wash taint a front wash unless you move back a bit. Definitely helps you feel cleaner. Grateful i had this week as our hot water heater is out so this helped keeping clean easier. It works okay but for the price would have expected a backlit remote and a few more bells and whistles. Instead you have to turn the light on. It was easy to install. The seat slide...

Definitely helps you feel cleaner. Grateful i had this week as our hot water heater is out so this helped keeping clean easier. It works okay but for the price would have expected a backlit remote and a few more bells and whistles. Instead you have to turn the light on. It was easy to install. The seat slides around and we tighten it and it loosens again which is frustrating for us girls. Overall it works as advertised but wish i had looked around a little more before pulling the trigger to get more bang for my buck. Update- this has held up well. Still working as good as the day we got it. Got one for my daughter that was a little less expensive but big difference in value so I appreciate the brand a little more. Water still toasty and drying working well. Never had one before but learned to flush before drying. Only issue almost year later is one of the front bumpers on the seat is broke down and I can’t find where to replace. Due to seat moving around which finally stopped. Will keep looking for bumper. Quality is definitely above average.

15 min install, short power cord, front wash is only 2 or 3 out of 5

Exactly what I wanted for Christmas! LOVE THIS! Would buy it again! I recognize this is an add on seat and not a full/real bidet which likely is what is needed for quality front wash, but I (female) can make its front wash work by leaning my body forward. LOVE warm water! Could tell in advance of arrival it has SHORT plug-in three prong power cord, and now that it is on ordered a 3 foot extension cord as that is all ours needs to reach power better. For those with bathroom designed with power for toilet seat, it is likely perfect (but this is likely only few people with NEW bathroom remodels, and how many actually think ahead... some might plan hardwire instead) Speaking of install - FAST! BF had bidet add on seat on toilet and working in 15 mins, so it was done before I thought we were starting. Dryer drying better would probably cost more (model upgrade?) because do not expect it to act like hairdryer - more like lame restaurant wall hand dryer. I also bought a new toilet (had toilet like this in hallway so now second toilet in master bathroom is same... but master bathroom is only toilet with this spiffy bidet seat. On a 5 point scale, this bidet seat and toilet combo we just put in our master bathroom isn't just 5 out of 5 - ours goes to ELEVEN! I'm adding photo, and this is before extension cord comes for bidet toilet seat. Most of family currently scared of it, so I'm leaving instructions in nearby bathroom magazine rack. We also mounted remote holder on side edge of our bathroom magazine rack (BF built DIY previous Christmas gift). If family gets brave and begins using it, then I'll get a second bidet seat for hallway bathroom - jury out on kids and grandparent generation reactions (so far!) EDIT 1/15/2024 after ONE YEAR of owning my original bidet - continues to work great, and even on the same original batteries despite using it ALL THE TIME! Because three months ago, I've had to transition into my mom's primary caregiver and live next door to my family, I just bought THREE more of these bidet seats! Yes, one for me over here where I live with my mom because I found myself having to go next door all the time to use my original bidet seat. I put this second one in the hallway bathroom next door. Then I got one for my mom, purchased at the same time, because there are just some things I want to minimize caring for my mom when her health takes big downswings, and if we can let her spray her butt, it is way better than me wiping her butt. The master bathroom here next door is where the third bidet installation happened (for my mom). Finally, I have a rental property around the corner, and I've gotten one for the master bathroom so I can compete with the new construction rentals and market my rental as having a luxurious bidet! I can't imagine I will ever need a fifth bidet seat, unless my job eventually makes me return to the office... driving home to go potty would be a bigger bother than having to run next door! If you are sitting on the fence trying to decide about buying ONE of these, now I own FOUR. Sitting pretty! Get this!
