Due to surgery and not having my dominant hand to use, it was suggested I buy a bidet. I ordered/received this a month ago and it has been the best thing ever! Because I wanted remote control the only ones I found had all the 'bells and whistles'. Since I knew nothing about bidets I did a lot of research and finally chose this Alpha Bidet UX Pearl. It was delivered the day before surgery and took very little time with no issues for my husband to install. Luckily I have an electrical socket next to toilet. I was thankful to have this important task ready for my post surgery needs. It seems to clean really well since I don't (can't) use tissue at all, but most would probably want to use a couple sheets only for full dryness. Maybe it's a female thing, but if sit for long or thru complete DRY cycle, it does stimulate to urinate again LOL. I love the heated water and position adjustment features. My husband absolutely loves the heated seat but doesn't really use the bidet features. Once you attach the wall mount, the remote is magnetized for easily taking on/off if needed. With my very large size, it was hard to find a sittable lid and this bidet fits the bill...very sturdy! Some of the reviews mention the beep sound when features change/turn on/off...this is no biggie because I'm in a closed room when using the toilet and what does it bother since I can barely hear it. Also some mention the length of cycles being too long, but you can stop anytime you choose with the stop button on remote. The osculating feature is nice and gives a more thorough cleaning. Of course the positioning of spout can be adjusted to hit the right spots. I have no need for the nightlight but it may come in handy at some point. I choose not to use the deodorizer. There is a 3yr warranty but I did not receive paperwork regarding this, so I need to contact manufacturer. I am completely ecstatic that I splurged on this purchase! Bidets are the best inventions, and I wholeheartedly believe a plus in cleanliness. I never want to go back to a regular toilet. I highly recommend the Alpha Bidet UX Pearl to everyone I know and to all you that are questioning a purchase. I have positive hopes that it lasts 3yrs or longer, but if it only gets me through until I can use my hand again it is well worth the purchase/cost! In Japan, virtually every toilet, including those in public washrooms, is either a toilet bidet combo, or is fitted with a bidet seat. During a recent trip, I decided that I wanted to make the cleanliness of a bidet available at home. I have installed two Alpha UX Pearl bidet seats. One in our master suite, and one in our first floor powder room. They are installed on two different style 17 year old Kohler toilets. Here are, IMHO, the Pros and Cons of the Alpha UX Pearl: Pros: Seat comfort. This is far and away the reason I am sticking with the Alphas, and why I am willing to live with my list of Cons. Before the Alpha, I tried an economical Kohler C3-325, and a top of the line Toto S7. They both worked fine, but were too uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time, especially the Toto. I would begin to lose circulation in my legs after just a few minutes. The Alpha seat, by contrast is flatter and wider, and while not as comfortable as the original Kohler seats that came with the toilets, it is much better that the other bidet seats. All of the functionality of the Alpha Bidet seat works very well. I’m still not really sure what the Pure Breeze Bowl Sanitizer does, but it seems to work. We don’t tend to sit on the lid, but can’t assume that guests won’t. The alpha has a sittable lid, which also looks better than the big plasticy lids on the Kohler and Toto. The remotes on the Kohler and Toto were pretty complicated to set up and Use. The Alpha remote seems much simpler to use, and the buttons are labeled both in English and with pictograms. Cons: The expansion nuts fit smugly on one of our toilets, and worked fine. But, on the other toilet, the holes were a little bigger, and the expansion nuts pulled right out when I tried to tighten them. I ended up using the nuts and bolts from the original toilet seat instead. I don’t like the way you can clearly see the supply hose and electrical cord coming out the sides of the seat. Especially the hose and elbow, which have a bright chrome finish while everything else in our bathrooms has a brushed nickel finish. On the Kohler and the Toto, the hoses and power cords come out the bottom, instead of the sides, and once I zip tied them, they were not visible from the top at all. For sanitary reasons, when people use the bidet, I would prefer they touch as little as possible, using the buttons as needed of course, but not actually handling the remote, which can also lead to accidentally dropping it on the tile floor, or even worse, in the toilet. The remotes for the Kohler and the Toto have a horizontal shape, which resemble the ones in Japan and look like they belong on the wall, not in hand. In fact, they both have the option of being instaled in anti-theft mode, which would make it virtually impossible to remove from the wall. The Alpha remote, by contrast, is shaped like a TV remote, and it sitting there in the wall bracket is like an invitation to pick it up and hold it.  Read Less

We've had the Alpha JX in one bathroom for 3 years. Recently, we remodeled our 2nd bathroom and purchased an Alpha UX to install on a Toto Drake toilet. We intended to buy another JX, but the UX just happened to be on that day for a price very close to the JX. We think the JX is great, but the UX does have a few features that we've come to appreciate. - The User #1 and User #2 pre-sets are a welcomed feature. - I originally thought the Auto-deordorization and the Pure Breeze features were the same, but quickly came to realize they are different, with very different functions... both useful. - We also initially thought the Side Control knob was a bit odd, but it seems that our guests prefer using that feature since it is a bit less intimidating. At their regular list prices, the JX is the better "value." You cannot go wrong with the JX, but if you can get the UX at a good sale price, I'd splurge a bit on the UX.  Read Less

Easy to use remote works well with 2 presets + auto-cycle memory is a nice plus. “Pure Breeze" ionic sanitizer is quite nice. Design is very sleek and modern. It is not glaringly "a bidet seat" like my previous unit from another manufacturer. Heated water works well and is in fact continuous. Room for Improvement: Water pressure not as high as I would have liked - Could use additional 25% stronger flow option. More customization of the wash cycle would have been nice. The pressure seems very adequate, the temperature control is comfortable, the seat warmer warms, and the deodorizer deodorizes very well. This is my first bidet seat and my wife and I really like. I don't know how we lived without one! I like this because it has many of the bells and whistles that the most expensive bidets have, yet it has a very slim profile. It looks almost like a regular toilet seat. The pressure seems very adequate, the temperature control is comfortable, the seat warmer warms, and the deodorizer deodorizes very well. Also, the night light is more elegant in my opinion than the more typical blue light. All is well with this except, according to my wife, the front wash doesn't quite reach like expected. She has wiggle and move to position herself and it's just a little awkward. Don't know if other bidet seats have the same problem but it seems that since the nozzle is coming from the back of the seat it would be difficult to get the right position for a front wash. Love the seat and rear spray options but the spray adjustment from rear to front doesn't seem to move for ladies. When I switch to front spray without moving it sprays in the exact same location. I can adjust myself by scooting back but it defeats the benefit of the button. My other complaint is that ozone deodorizer doesn't run when you're sitting on the toilet. Why can't we turn that on while we're on the throne? If you wait until you're done, there's no auto shut off so you have to remember t... Read More

Why can't we turn that on while we're on the throne? If you wait until you're done, there's no auto shut off so you have to remember to come back and turn it off. It also turns the motor on whenever you sit down, regardless if you're going to wash up. So in the middle of the pin-drop quiet of the night, the motor running is a bit disconcerting. Not sure if that's to warm the water but I'd like the option to turn that off at night. The seat is always warm which in the midwest winter has been worth the money all by itself!  Read Less
