Always thought I wanted one

Now I know I should have bought one many years ago. Very easy to install. You do need 120v by the toilet. Check the wall behind it. I had on outlet on the wall behind where I needed it. 30 minutes, I had a hole cut and new one installed behind the toilet. Be warned ... that first time blast of water will be a shocker. Everything thing is heated, even a blow drier. And charcoal filter starts when you sit down.

[Incentivized Review] A must have for every home!

I have always wanted a modern bidet. The thought of using toilet paper to clean seems primitive to me and quite frankly doesn't do a thorough job. A bidet seat is a must have for every home. I have always wanted a modern bidet. The thought of using toilet paper to clean seems primitive to me and quite frankly doesn't do a thorough job. A bidet seat is a must have for every home. The Kohler K-8298 is awesome! When I first installed it - it was leaking - and I thought I had a fault product ... but then I tightened all the connections with a plumber's wrench, and got it working perfectly. I am still using an extension cord since I didn't have an outlet there already. Eventually, I need to install a GFI outlet here. Appearance The bidet seat doesn't integrate with my Kohler Cimarron as well as the original seat - but it looks decent. It is definitely more ergonomic than the original. Function It took me a few minutes to figure out that you need to sit on the seat to actually make it work (which makes sense). My daughter is 45 pounds and is unable to activate the seat. The controls are fairly intuitive - and once you get used to them - are second nature. The fan does a decent job of drying - but you still need a bit of toilet paper to complete the job. The water jets are incredible ... they don't spray outside of the toilet at all and do a great job cleaning. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone. It seems expensive for a toilet seat - but it will change your life.

[Incentivized Review] Almost Perfect

All this is amazing, but waits there is more.....a UV light that kills bacteria, and a nightlight that make those late night strolls a bit safer. I am pleased, very pleased and feel it was worth installing a GFCI wall plug nearby. However, I do wish that it came with a remote or wall touchpad. It can be difficult to hit the correct button while seated at night without my glasses! There are other models with remote controls with the same features but at a higher price point. So, I created a cheat-sheet and taped to the wall until I get use to the feel of where the buttons are located. This is a high quality, well designed electric bidet toilet seat.

[Incentivized Review] You won't go back to a regular seat!

I've installed many bidet seats for clients and the universal reaction is "why did I wait so long?" The Kohler C3 155 seat is a full featured bidet seat that is a great value for the price. It installs easily with clear instructions on how to hook up to your existing water supply. You will need a power outlet close to the toilet. While a bidet seat can be a little intimidating at first you quickly learn to use all the features and how to customize it to your needs. The seat does not function unless you are actually sitting on it so that's the best way to learn. This seat has both front and rear sprays that can be adjusted to your needs. All adjustments are made on a keypad on the right side of the seat and you will quickly learn to adjust by feel with a little practice. Many seats offer a remote but personally I don't see the necessity. You can adjust up to 6 levels of heat on the seat surface and the water temperature, and the blow dryer feature is strong and effective. I thought the deodorizer feature was probably a marketing ploy but it actually works noticeably well. There is also a built in blue light for finding the toilet in the dark which gives it a high tech glow and feel. Once you get past being intimidated by a smart seat you really will enjoy the features and wonder how you ever relied on paper before. These are also great for homes on septic systems because not flushing paper is a big load off your system.

What a great product ! We have had the KOHLER C3 155 Electric Bidet Seat for about two months now and we love it. After installing an adjacent GFI plug, the package comes with all new flexible white piping and fittings to connect to a toilet. It has many unexpected features: The seat is automatically kept warm or cool as needed. It's washing and drying functions will only operate when you're sitting on. With the press of a button, a nozzle automatically adjusts as needed to your front and rear. The water is automatically heated or cooled as needed. The stainless steel washing nozzle automatically adjusts to spray or pulsing as desired. When a cycle is completed, the nozzle retracts & automatically cleans itself. When washing is completed, a dryer blows cool or warm air as desired. Toilet paper is no longer needed . When you leave the toilet seat, an automatic deodorizer filters the surroundings. It has a built in blue light that kills bacteria. It turns on automatically when you turn the bathroom lights off. It doubles as a great night lite. Both Kohler and Home Depot had a home run with this product. We love it, BOBM1

[Incentivized Review] This should be in your bathroom

Out of all the heated items that can finish off a bathroom… heated towel rack, heated floor, etc… this is by far the best. Out of all the heated items that can finish off a bathroom… heated towel rack, heated floor, etc… this is by far the best. As a bathroom fixture that is peculiarly amiss in nearly every bathroom in the United States, the bidet is a curious contraption. However, I’m happy to say that this high tech bidet is worth every penny! A super warm seat to sit down on and hot water to clean up! Installation is fairly easy. Remove the old seat, thoroughly clean the toilet and remove the water line to the tank (there are two hoses and a T connector provided) and you’re ready to go. The instructions say you’ll need an adjustable wrench and Philips head screwdriver. I used a crescent wrench, a flat head screwdriver (there were no Philips head screws to be found) and a shallow pan to catch the drips from removing the water line from the tank. I’ve changed out enough toilets to know that this is a necessary thing, but I’m sure many people won’t know this and end up with a puddle of water on their bathroom floor. Aligning the bracket was an interesting process. I just to push it as far back as possible for the first dry run, which was almost where it needed to go. The bracket attaches just like any other toilet seat does. With that done, you tighten it on, and then slide the bidet seat onto the bracket. It snaps right into place (once you jiggle it around a bit). I found that I had to connect the water line to the bidet before snapping it onto the bracket, otherwise I could not access the nut on the water line. Fully installed, I tested it in the manner suggested in the instructions: put plastic wrap over the toilet, place your right palm on the seat and press a button .This worked, and the wand came right out and did its thing. The functionality is quite varied, and there are plenty of ways to clean yourself up! There is also a night light, but its blue glow was so bright I had to disable it. Another downside, is that because it has a small water tank in it, the unit is very large. This decreases the side of the actual seat, so you’ll see that your elongated toilet seat shrinks down to a round toilet seat. There is a fan to dry off after a spray… but unless you’re going to sit there for twenty minutes, it doesn’t really do anything.

[Incentivized Review] Gotta Love This Seat

Per Kohler's installation manual this bidet requires a 120 volt 15 amp dedicated line with a 15 amp GFCI outlet placed within 32 ins. of the bidet seat. I don't have that. I also don't have an attic and I don't have a basement. Installing this line will require a few hours in a 3 ft. high, dirt floor, crawl space. In the spring I'll do a proper installation but for now this is getting powered up with a 12 ga. 20 amp extension cord plugged into a 15 amp GFCI outlet in the next room. The installa...

The installation of the seat is very simple, the only tools you'll need are a flat head screwdriver and an adjustable wrench or a pair of pliers . Remove the old seat, clean and disinfect the bowl, screw down the new mounting bracket and snap on the seat. The mounting bracket has a large range of adjustability to get the seat positioned just right. The water connection is done with the supplied chromed metal "T" fitting placed between the supply line and the toilet tank. The water feed from the bidet screws onto this fitting. Plug in the power cord and you're done. They also included a supply line, from the tank to the "T" fitting, in the event yours is iffy. I replaced a non-electric bidet seat and was able to reuse the old "T" fitting. The seat has a built-in safety switch which disables all function until it senses weight on the right side of the seat. The LED control panel offers a ton of features. Front cleaning (3 pressure settings), rear cleaning (3 pressure settings), automatic wand extension for manual cleaning, dryer (3 speed settings), heated seat (3 temperature settings), water temperature (3 temperature settings), oscillate / pulsate spray, manual UV sanitize button and deodorizer button. There's also a very cool night light which can be switched off if you don't want it. For cleaning purposes the seat is easily removed from its mounting bracket with a push of a button. If required, the self-cleaning stainless steel retractable spray wand can be cleaned manually with a soft bristled brush and hot water. There's also a 45 minute UV disinfecting cycle which activates automatically once every 24 hours. My well water has a high sediment content, I have filters throughout the house, Thankfully Kohler included a removable filter screen to trap the contaminates before they reach the water reservoir. The seat's a pleasure to use. No more icy cold water, although, that was an eye opener first thing on a winter morning. I lived in Europe where bidets are a common fixture and I can assure you that once you own one you'll appreciate this appliance. Kohler includes a 3 year limited warranty from the date of installation for normal residential use.

Almost great. Not sure about the pricetag.

I bought this because my wife is always worried about the bidet nozzle getting poop on it. Between the automatic rinses, the disinfecting UV light, and ESPECIALLY the door flaps protecting both the fan and nozzle from liquid poop splatters; I knew this was the right bidet for us. I bought this because my wife is always worried about the bidet nozzle getting poop on it. Between the automatic rinses, the disinfecting UV light, and ESPECIALLY the door flaps protecting both the fan and nozzle from liquid poop splatters; I knew this was the right bidet for us. PROS: - I never knew I wanted a heated seat until I used one and then pooped somewhere else on a cold seat. - The flaps do their job magnificently. - There is actually an odor eliminator in the seat that starts when you sit. When you're sharing a bathroom and you both ate spicy tacos, this is super nice. - The seat is sort of awkwardly shaped in the back, but it makes you sit in just the right position to get sprayed in the right spot. - It hits that right spot and leaves both the wife and I feeling clean enough to let the other admire our butts with the confidence of knowing nothing was left behind. CONS: - The air dryer feels like it's blowing a very light breeze of cold air on your bum. It negates the benefit of having a warm water rinse. Also, the breeze is so light that it doesn't actually do anything to dry you off. I still find myself wiping once just to dry off. - You need to have an electric outlet near your toilet. I got super lucky and already had one there, but make sure you look for one. At my old house (and other bathroom) I would have needed to run an extension cord across the floor or over the sink to make this thing work. - It's kind of an energy hog. It's nice having a heated seat when you need it, but a real waste of energy to keep the seat warm while it waits for your cheeks. - The water pressure is lacking. I was somewhat surprised because we have phenomenal water pressure in the bathroom, but this is by far the weakest bidet of any that I have tried. It gets the job done, but I sometimes want to have a power washer scrape anything lingering around. I had a Tushy in a 3rd floor condo with awful water pressure and this is weaker than that. This might be necessary due to the need to heat the water before spraying it. More pressure = More Water = Less Time to heat water - Air dryer can send odors out of the toilet bowl and into the room. MAKE SURE YOU FLUSH BEFORE FIRING THAT UP! - That remote controlled unit was an extra $100. I opted for the one with the buttons on the side as the only means of control. In hindsight, the extra $100 might have been worth it. I don't use most of the buttons on the toilet because I can never remember what they all do and you never know what heat setting or pulse pattern it's on because I can't see the controller. I have a lot of pictures of my naked butt cheek and the control panel on my phone so I can figure out what's going on. Hopefully I'll memorize it some day, but as of now, I just use the rear wash and stop button when I poop.

Good bidet - but what is going on with documentation over at Kohler?

I hope folks find this review, because I would've really benefited from it. To start with, this bidet on Amazon is named the PureWash E820. Yet you receive a large box calling it the C3-455. I called Kohler who stated there should be no functional difference at all, although the date on the bidet I received is 2021. Next is the instruction manual. The literal first instruction is wrong - "On the underside of the mounting plate, adhere an additional pad over the existing pad at each end". There are no included pads, so this is very confusing. I discovered this was copied and pasted from the C3-420 manual and is irrelevant, so just ignore it. Then there's the instruction for the night light and the energy saving control - both incorrect. Funnily enough there are TWO different user manuals hosted by Kohler for this model and BOTH have the wrong instructions. Again, I did some Googling and found the instructions for E930 energy saver mode, and THOSE worked for me, thank goodness. To turn on the energy saver mode, press and hold the Seat Temp button until it starts flashing. Then let go, and press it again to choose the mode. Long beep = energy saver off (seat is always heated). One beep = lower temperature all the time, then heats more once you sit down. Two beeps = heat is off until you sit down. If anyone from Kohler is reading this, please pass this feedback onto your technical writing team...
