Great bidet, easy to install and compatible with Kohler toilets

This bidet has many features and only deducting one star because it doesn't have a dryer. It has many options for seat temperature and water flow. I was able to install the seat within 30 minutes. I love this bidet and highly recommend it.

Oh, my! I'll never want to use an ordinary toilet again.

This is absolutely wonderful! It took some time and effort for my husband to install it, but is absolutely worth it. This is absolutely wonderful! It took some time and effort for my husband to install it, but is absolutely worth it. This is considerably nicer than other add on bidets, giving control over water temperature and pressure, and how far forward the wand extends (on the remote) for front and back cleansing. I like that the controls put the front extension first, as it's important for women to cleanse front to back. With the wand the least extended for front cleaning, I found that I needed to lean forward a little bit, but with it in the most extended position, I could sit normally. Water pressure can also be adjusted on the controls attached to the seat, as can the heat setting. I'll nver want to use an ordinary toilet again. The only thing that surprised me, though I suppose it shouldn't have, is that you need to push the stop button, as the length of time it sprays has no default (that I've found). The only thing it doesn't have that I wish it did is air drying, but by sitting there a little while longer, or patting dry with TP or a dedicated, personal washcloth, that problem is solved. Thanks to an allergy to paper, I wasn't able to use TP for a long time, so we have rather a lot of personal washcloths now available to become drying cloths now. It's well worth it knowing you're really clean! I knew that using this would give a cleaner feeling than toilet paper, but am impressed by how very much more it gives. Although the extra plumbing at the back of the seat does take up some real estate, the seat is still very comfortable, and I have not found it to force me to sit in anything other than an anatomically correct position. The warm seat and nightlight are lovely extras. I also love that the bidet sanitizes the wand daily, using UV light, which is a perfect solution for any concerns one might have about the potential for bacteria to get any foothold in there. I realize that at least one reviewer found the pitch of the seat unformfortable, but we have not found it to be such as would put us off using it. I surmise it is there because this allows them to flash heat the water there. I'm very happy with this, and am way beyond happy that we were able to get this. It mightn't make as much a difference in the life of someone without a paper allergy, but it sure is making a huge one in mine. Even if its finally version is somewhat different than this version, I will gladly sing its praises to anyone who wants to hear then. All toilets should give you such peace of mind!

Bidetful in the bathroom / Buying tips

When we travel, particularly in Asia, the better hotels all have bidets. At first you feel like you are climbing onto a mysterious rocketship. Then, after playing around with the controls, you realize this Euro-inspired bathroom innovation really makes sense. At $400 ,how does this Kohler rate? Is it a fair value? First, this is not a low priced unit. It makes several smart design choices however. These include warming the water to a temp of your choice, and a nifty nightlight inside. Before deciding to buy a better bidet like this one, be prepared to do some plumbing and electrical work. Realistically, you will need a plug outlet behind the toilet. You can wire yourself or bring in an electrician. We opt for a skilled handyman. The plumbing part of the job is quite simple. A diverter splits the water line heading to the toilet and moves one new line of water up to spray your crotch area. Which features are important? This one has a front and rear wash. If you think of the reasons you take a daily shower, the bidet may ultimately save you some water so you can skip the shower sometimes. The included inner bowl nightlight is not a necessity but we think it’s great. Which features are not needed? Personally, I feel a remote for a bidet is dumb and not hygienic, either. Once you get the feel of the positions of the controls on the side, you’ll remember and would never think of needing a remote. No remote with this model. Comfort: Bidets add the plumbing just below where you sit so they tend to angle upwards. This Kohler integrates with the included seat but the added angle is still comfortable. You won’t feel like you may fall in like with some bidets! Toasty tushie: The seat heats up. Come on in! The water is warm. An unexpectedly bidet bonus: If you like to linger in the bath, and are curious about relaxing over the bidet for some personal pleasure time, this strength controlled Kohler is a wonderfully friendly new addition to your creativity.

So so

I find the water temperature and strength of the stream to fluctuate greatly in one sitting. I also own a Toto washlet, and as a basis for comparison, the Toto is far superior.
