[Incentivized Review] Great addition to any bathroom

This was an easy product to install and the functions were easy to understand. I was a little concerned that I would not be able to easily navigate the touch screen, which was not an issue at all. The directions were step by step and it worked smoothly as soon as it was installed. I really like the idea of the UV sanitation, which will help me cut down on other costs. To this point it also includes a anti-microbial agent that helps cut down on odor, stains, and disease causing bacteria on the toilet. For a clean freak like me this is a perfect product. For all of the features this product has, this is a great price.

No blue light

I had this installed a week ago and I like everything about it except that the blue UV light has stopped working. I don't know whether to call the plumber back or return the item.

Best I could find

Let's talk about service! Ordered on Monday, arrived Tuesday and functional within 15 minutes! Wow! Now the important stuff - features. If you are like me, you like to read everything you can on your tech stuff. The Kohler website and other info was a little vague, so I want to clear some things up here. For background, I recently got back from an Asia trip where I had the pleasure of interacting with the most intelligent Toto bidet/toilet I have ever met. This thing could sense proximity. As you approached, it lightly illuminated, opened the lip automatically, and when you were done it flushed itself!! This Kohler does none of these things, but it a fine machine in its own right. Love - The pressure is good and the water is never cold. The warm seat is VERY nice. The controller is a necessity in my opinion. Don't even bother with the other models that have buttons off to the side. What I don't like - That damn blue light. The light is a UV sanitizing light that doubles as a night light. Er. Check that - Keeps you from sleeping. It is always ON. You can not turn it off. There is no proximity sensing or other smarts here. If it is dark, the light will come on. I have this unit in my master bathroom. The light is intense enough to peek between the seat and lid and is actually quite annoying if you are a fan of pitch black at night. I have other lights that are on motion sensors to see my walkway at night, but this thing is bright enough that I would likely not need them. While I have gotten more used to the blue light in the past few weeks, I still often am forced to shut the door at night so that it does not keep me from sleeping. Big factor for aggravation. Everything else is as expected and simply a pleasure to use.

[Incentivized Review] C3-230 Elongated Bidet Seat

I’m new to the bidet world, not having any prior experience with bidets. We hired a local plumber to replace our 30-year old contractors toilet that came with the house with a Koehler dual flush Wellworth elongated toilet and C3-230 matching bidet seat. Health issues having increased the frequency of my bathroom visits, I was hoping this would alleviate some of the discomfort I was experiencing. Health issues having increased the frequency of my bathroom visits, I was hoping this would alleviate some of the discomfort I was experiencing. It’s a strange feeling when you first try the bidet, but you soon get used to it. It works flawlessly and has eliminated the problems I was encountering. I still use toilet paper, but a lot less. I don’t know how one goes paperless. The only problem we’ve had is regarding the blue nightlight. I like it. My wife has trouble sleeping with it on if we leave the bathroom door open. This is especially a problem when the LED light is flashing indicating the UV light is cleaning the wands. If I could decrease the LED’s light intensity and program the wand cleaning time to avoid this nighttime problem, it would be perfect.

[Incentivized Review] Nice seat, complicated and incomplete instructions

The instructions for this seat are complicated and incomplete. The under-seat lighting started flashing one morning, and there was nothing in the instructions about this, I called customer service and asked if it was in a self destruct mode, but was told it was going through a UV sanitizing sequence, why wasn't this pointed out? After 2 months, my wife and I have still not figured out how to program the remote for the preset 1 & 2 functions, so we end up having to push all the different feature...

After 2 months, my wife and I have still not figured out how to program the remote for the preset 1 & 2 functions, so we end up having to push all the different feature buttons one at a time when we use the seat, this was fun at first, but if you have a mid-night need, I have to find my glasses first to see all the different buttons. I find the seat quite attractive and enjoy all it's functions, the grip is in how incomplete the instructions are for the controlled functions and I didn't even know there was a "beep" on the remote until my wife pointed it out, there is nothing in the instructions pointing this out, and the beep is VERY faint. I am also NOT computer illiterate.

Falls short when compared to competitors. A few negatives with this model after comparing vs. other brands. The biggest negative is the poor design as noted by other reviews on other websites. The instructions and spec sheets highlight space needed behind the seat (between the seat holes and the tank), but what isn’t mentioned in the specs, and what I learned the hard way, is that the curve of the bowl RIM also restricts proper fit. This is because the wand and heater mechanisms bulge out from beneath the seat (not mentioned or shown on any of the online specs). So, if your bowl rim is narrow in the back (despite being elongated), the seat doesn’t actually sit “flush” limiting placement and, at best, the front of the seat hangs out / over the front of the rim. This issue doesn’t seem to impact certain Kohler models (I have a Kohler Memoirs) but didn’t fit on my American Standard toilets. Frustrating and required me to return to Home Depot. Also, when using heated water, the draw on power on this model seems fairly significant as the lights in my bathroom dim / flicker when in use. Additionally, the water comes out cold if you first don’t play with the heat setting just prior to use which is a pain as you need to cycle from cold to hot in order to get to your desired temperature (see criticism of the remote functionality below). The cleaning water pressure is fair but compared to other brands there’s no comparison. Worth noting is that the method of automatically cleaning the wand relies on a combination of water and UV light, which other people have noted can be annoying at night as the blue light flashes on and off (like disco) for some time during cleaning, but not sure if this is truly effective in sanitizing. Finally, while attractive and modern looking, the remote functionality can be improved as the buttons require you to cycle from lowest setting to highest setting to get to where you want to be. For example, if the water temp is too hot while using, you need to cycle to cold then to warmer to get to desired temperature (no way to get from directly from hot to warm). Same for the wand positioning, if you want to move it back you need to cycle forwards and then to back to get to desired positioning. On positive notes, the deodorizing fan can be shut off easily if needed (more difficult to shut off on the Toto). Which is important as it’s loud and can be annoying. Also, the remote is much sexier / sleeker compared to there brands. Would think that Kohler (if it is actually Kohler that manufactures this) would have put more thought into this model when comparing to competitors.

ummmm..kinda disappointed

lacks the stylized lines of the original, no way to keep the dryer from starting up upon sitting down, no discreet night light, uv cleaner activates in the middle of the night and strobes, is slighly longer than the rim of the toilet so fits poorly.
