As a newbie to the world of cleansing seats, I didn’t understand the appeal at first. It sounds neat, but do you really need one? Maybe not...but it certainly elevates your bathroom experience! As a newbie to the world of cleansing seats, I didn’t understand the appeal at first. It sounds neat, but do you really need one? Maybe not...but it certainly elevates your bathroom experience! First things first - the seat came with everything needed to install it. The instructions were spot on and it also has a user guide on how to pair the remote and troubleshoot any issues. It took my husband less than an hour to install. He says that anyone fairly handy should be able to do this themselves in a similar amount of time. The manufacturer does not recommend using an extension cord. In my experience, almost no one has an outlet close enough to their toilet for this to plug in (unless you’ve had it specifically wired for a cleansing seat). We are currently using a heavy gauge extension cord and it’s working fine. Pairing the remote was simple and only took a minute. It takes a bit longer to get used to warm water hitting your backside and lady bits. I will say the heated toilet seat is quite nice. Our bathroom gets chilly so not sitting on a ice cold seat is a treat! All of the functions work as they should and I like being able to adjust the heat of both the seat and water, spray time and length of the wand, and there is even a fan that blows warm air to dry your rear! We got this to replace an American Standard bidet seat that eventually worked itself loose from our Kohler toilet. It was no longer possible to tighten that seat, so we decided to get one that exactly fit our Kohler. We got this to replace an American Standard bidet seat that eventually worked itself loose from our Kohler toilet. It was no longer possible to tighten that seat, so we decided to get one that exactly fit our Kohler. What I Like: — It fit absolutely perfectly on my elongated bowl Archer toilet and installed quickly and easily. (We don't do plumbing stuff well, but this was very easy.) — This seat has a low profile which looks so much better than the older model, high in the back, seats of every brand. — The seat is quite comfortable. — The controls are what I was used to (front, back, wand length adjustment, pulse massage, deodorizing fan, heated seat, adjustments for temp and strength of water stream) and are fairly standard on these seats at this point. — The heated seat. This is pretty much the height of civilization, imo. Life doesn't get much better than this! If you live where it gets cold in the winter or even just at night, I cannot emphasize how fantastic this feature is. I like all of the features of this seat, but the heat is easily my favorite. I had it on my previous seat as well and I've been spoiled by it. If I have to sit on a cold seat on a cold morning, it is a most unpleasant shock. The heat can be adjusted or completely turned off. — The UV sanitization feature. This goes on automatically, although getting it to go on only when you want it to, rather than constantly, was more difficult than it should have been. — The drying fan. I did not have this on my previous seat and it's a nice feature - cool, warm and hot. — The seat slips on and off its mooring very easily. This is a very important feature for being able to clean all around the seat. — The night light. My husband likes this feature more than I do. The two lights that make the nice blue glow at night, shine right into the water and are pretty bright when you open the toilet lid. I've learned to look away when opening the lid because the light is bright enough to wake me up more than I want in the middle of the night. There is no dimmer for the night light. It is either On or Off. But my husband is happy that he no longer had to turn a light on in the bathroom. What I Don't Like: — The placement of the controls. When you are sitting, the controls are at about 5:00 (if looking down). That means that you have to twist a bit to see the controls. My husband says he can feel which buttons to push now and no longer has to twist around, but I am still twisting. Not as much, but enough to bug me. My other seat had a remote control, and I should have gotten the Kohler seat that that had it, but the price difference was kind of ridiculous just for a remote. Bottom line: Overall, I like this seat very much. It fits perfectly, does everything it's supposed to do and is easy to clean, which is obviously important. We purchased this bidet a few months ago and can't believe how much we love it! This unit has all the bells and whistles. It cleans, it dries, the seat warms, the nightlight - all of it is perfect. The variety of options lets everyone in the house fully customize to their preference - no fighting. The only downside is that the seat is at an odd angle, making it slightly uncomfortable unless you are seated JUST RIGHT. It also does need to be tightened from time to time to keep everything lined up... Read More

It also does need to be tightened from time to time to keep everything lined up. Its a small price to pay for such a luxurious bathroom experience. My husband and I debated between this model with the remote and another less expensive Kohler model without the remote. Get the remote! It is worth the upgrade. It makes the entire experience so much easier and more comfortable. We are glad we went with this model. We love it!  Read Less
