This is a game changer!

This bidet seat is amazing! While I don't use the heated seat function being in a hot climate, all other features work wonderfully. It cleans perfectly, the force of the water is perfect, and having worm water and the ability to adjust the nozzles and how the water comes out is extremely helpful. The only other function I have disabled is the deodorizer... not really sure what the point of that is, and it just makes the seat noisy since a fan runs as part of that function. If you buy this, you won’t be disappointed!

This bidet is Great!

In Europe, bidets are more common than here in the USA. A friend had a KOHLER 8298-0 PureWash E590 Elongated Bidet Toilet Seat, Heated Bidet, Bidets for Existing Toilet and she let me try it. I was SOLD. The controls are adjustable, from pressure to heat with a sanitizing fan and night light. What more could you want? Water does spray out so you must wipe that down on the back of the seat. Not a problem for me.

Worth Every Penny

I spent a lot of time looking around Amazon for an electric toilet seat/bidet and I kind of got into "analysis paralysis" with all of the choices, the different prices, all of the different features, and all of the positive and negative reviews. I spent a lot of time looking around Amazon for an electric toilet seat/bidet and I kind of got into "analysis paralysis" with all of the choices, the different prices, all of the different features, and all of the positive and negative reviews. I knew going with Kohler was somewhat of a safe bet because I have a few of their other products and the quality seems to be good. Basically, I knew I wanted an electric toilet seat with a bidet with a seat heater, electric deodorizer, and with warm water. I also knew I did NOT want a toilet seat with a remote controller (seriously, why do you need a remote to control something you are literally sitting on?). I found this bidet to be fairly easy to install. I have almost zero plumbing experience, so I was thankful for that. The seat controls are VERY easy to figure out. Everything is pretty self-explanatory. The deodorizer is...ok. It's not the greatest, but it's WAY better than a bidet that doesn't come with one. I love that the toilet seat has an automatic light that turns on at night. I like that it is self-cleaning. I love that the seat is always warm. *One thing to note is that the bidet does not have a connection to your hot water source.* This was actually a POSITIVE selling point for me, because I didn't want to have to drill a hole in my cabinet to get to the sink connections. This means, however, that even if you set the bidet water to the warmest setting, is not going to be warm right away. It does warm up very quickly (I'm talking seconds), though, and I have had no issues with it. The electrical cord doesn't reach too far. My bathroom outlet is right next to the toilet, but it is on TOP of the counter, not below it (I feel like this is how most bathrooms are). So I was disappointed that the cord does not reach that far, however, I got an inexpensive 3-pronged extension cord and that solved the problem. Ultimately, I've had this toilet seat / bidet for about 3 months now and I still love it. Guests love it too! For what fancy bidets are going for these days, I think this is absolutely worth it.

Always thought I wanted one

Now I know I should have bought one many years ago. Very easy to install. You do need 120v by the toilet. Check the wall behind it. I had on outlet on the wall behind where I needed it. 30 minutes, I had a hole cut and new one installed behind the toilet. Be warned ... that first time blast of water will be a shocker. Everything thing is heated, even a blow drier. And charcoal filter starts when you sit down.

[Incentivized Review] Packed with features and easy to install

Awesome product that is packed with lots of features! Automatically senses when you sit on the seat, lots of customizable options including 2 presets, heated seat, deodorizer, UV disinfect, heated water, and night light! It was easy to install and fit our elongated toilet with no problem. The plumbing was really easy to install and it came with everything needed. The only other thing was having an electrician install an outlet nearby and then just plug it in. Works really well and we're overall happy with the product. Great job Kohler.

Great features. Love the heated seat in winter!!! Should have gotten the model w/ remote.

We got this to replace an American Standard bidet seat that eventually worked itself loose from our Kohler toilet. It was no longer possible to tighten that seat, so we decided to get one that exactly fit our Kohler. What I Like: — It fit absolutely perfectly on my elongated bowl Archer toilet and installed quickly and easily. (We don't do plumbing stuff well, but this was very easy.) — This seat has a low profile which looks so much better than the older model, high in the back, seats of every brand. — The seat is quite comfortable. — The controls are what I was used to (front, back, wand length adjustment, pulse massage, deodorizing fan, heated seat, adjustments for temp and strength of water stream) and are fairly standard on these seats at this point. — The heated seat. This is pretty much the height of civilization, imo. Life doesn't get much better than this! If you live where it gets cold in the winter or even just at night, I cannot emphasize how fantastic this feature is. I like all of the features of this seat, but the heat is easily my favorite. I had it on my previous seat as well and I've been spoiled by it. If I have to sit on a cold seat on a cold morning, it is a most unpleasant shock. The heat can be adjusted or completely turned off. — The UV sanitization feature. This goes on automatically, although getting it to go on only when you want it to, rather than constantly, was more difficult than it should have been. — The drying fan. I did not have this on my previous seat and it's a nice feature - cool, warm and hot. — The seat slips on and off its mooring very easily. This is a very important feature for being able to clean all around the seat. — The night light. My husband likes this feature more than I do. The two lights that make the nice blue glow at night, shine right into the water and are pretty bright when you open the toilet lid. I've learned to look away when opening the lid because the light is bright enough to wake me up more than I want in the middle of the night. There is no dimmer for the night light. It is either On or Off. But my husband is happy that he no longer had to turn a light on in the bathroom. What I Don't Like: — The placement of the controls. When you are sitting, the controls are at about 5:00 (if looking down). That means that you have to twist a bit to see the controls. My husband says he can feel which buttons to push now and no longer has to twist around, but I am still twisting. Not as much, but enough to bug me. My other seat had a remote control, and I should have gotten the Kohler seat that that had it, but the price difference was kind of ridiculous just for a remote. Bottom line: Overall, I like this seat very much. It fits perfectly, does everything it's supposed to do and is easy to clean, which is obviously important. And the heated seat is soooooo nice to have.

2 Thumbs Up for Kohler Bidet Seat

New to using a bidet and didn’t want to spend for complete bidet toilet that if I didn’t like would cost me a significant amount of money plus the cost of taking it out and replacing with a regular toilet. The solution is just buying the bidet seat and decided on this Kohler because of the their years of experience with the bidet seat. My conclusions is it works grrrreeeaat! I can’t imagine a total bidet toilet could be any better. Easy to install but you do need a wall socket close to the toilet, easy for an electrician to install the wall socket. The bidet seat is very easy to install and easy to use. Lots of great features, including: heated seat, water temperature control, choice of water spray direction, deodorizer fan, drying fan, cleaning features and more. Using a bidet is easy and an improvement on personal hygiene. I’ve been using this Kohler bidet seat for 3 months so can’t comment on the life of this unit but it being a Kohler and the reviews I’m expecting years of pleasurable use. If there is any problem Kohler has a good help line and many plumbers know this unit for repair. If it couldn’t be fixed they are so cost effective I’d just replace it with the same bidet seat. I highly recommend this wonderful product.

Almost great. Not sure about the pricetag.

I bought this because my wife is always worried about the bidet nozzle getting poop on it. Between the automatic rinses, the disinfecting UV light, and ESPECIALLY the door flaps protecting both the fan and nozzle from liquid poop splatters; I knew this was the right bidet for us. PROS: - I never knew I wanted a heated seat until I used one and then pooped somewhere else on a cold seat. - The flaps do their job magnificently....

- The flaps do their job magnificently. - There is actually an odor eliminator in the seat that starts when you sit. When you're sharing a bathroom and you both ate spicy tacos, this is super nice. - The seat is sort of awkwardly shaped in the back, but it makes you sit in just the right position to get sprayed in the right spot. - It hits that right spot and leaves both the wife and I feeling clean enough to let the other admire our butts with the confidence of knowing nothing was left behind. CONS: - The air dryer feels like it's blowing a very light breeze of cold air on your bum. It negates the benefit of having a warm water rinse. Also, the breeze is so light that it doesn't actually do anything to dry you off. I still find myself wiping once just to dry off. - You need to have an electric outlet near your toilet. I got super lucky and already had one there, but make sure you look for one. At my old house (and other bathroom) I would have needed to run an extension cord across the floor or over the sink to make this thing work. - It's kind of an energy hog. It's nice having a heated seat when you need it, but a real waste of energy to keep the seat warm while it waits for your cheeks. - The water pressure is lacking. I was somewhat surprised because we have phenomenal water pressure in the bathroom, but this is by far the weakest bidet of any that I have tried. It gets the job done, but I sometimes want to have a power washer scrape anything lingering around. I had a Tushy in a 3rd floor condo with awful water pressure and this is weaker than that. This might be necessary due to the need to heat the water before spraying it. More pressure = More Water = Less Time to heat water - Air dryer can send odors out of the toilet bowl and into the room. MAKE SURE YOU FLUSH BEFORE FIRING THAT UP! - That remote controlled unit was an extra $100. I opted for the one with the buttons on the side as the only means of control. In hindsight, the extra $100 might have been worth it. I don't use most of the buttons on the toilet because I can never remember what they all do and you never know what heat setting or pulse pattern it's on because I can't see the controller. I have a lot of pictures of my naked butt cheek and the control panel on my phone so I can figure out what's going on. Hopefully I'll memorize it some day, but as of now, I just use the rear wash and stop button when I poop.
