Kohler C3-455 Cleansing Toilet Seat I absolutely LOVE my bidet seat and Kohler customer service is AMAZING! Two years after purchasing I had an issue with my remote not working and called customer service. They sent me a new remote, but unfortunately it was the sensor in the actual cleaning seat versus the remote. I called back to let them know it still wasn’t working and I had a new seat within the week. We all know warranties are great, but sometime companies don’t particularly like to honor them. This has moved Kohler to my 5 star list! I’ve been wanting to adding two more bidet seats in other bathrooms and I will buy nothing other than Kohler (they’re too expensive to have to replace every couple years). To anyone searching for the “perfect” bidet, this one has all the “cool” stuff. The heated seat is wonderful! One word of wisdom is to invest in some soft washable cloths to keep by the toilet as you do have to dry (this is an issue with any bidet). The only negative is when I purchased my seat I made sure it fit with the elongated Kohler Santa Rosa model toilet. The installation on the original seat was easy, however the way the new seat is installed makes it challenging (the seat mount bracket is different on the newer model than the original). It still fits, but you have to remove the bolts to have enough room for the seat to unlatch. I’m actually thinking of purchasing another toilet as it’s that much of a pain. The spreadsheet still states it’s compatible with that particular toilet, maybe someone knows a trick that I’m not aware of. Between the automatic rinses, the disinfecting UV light, and ESPECIALLY the door flaps protecting both the fan and nozzle from liquid poop splatters; I knew this was the right bidet for us. I bought this because my wife is always worried about the bidet nozzle getting poop on it. Between the automatic rinses, the disinfecting UV light, and ESPECIALLY the door flaps protecting both the fan and nozzle from liquid poop splatters; I knew this was the right bidet for us. PROS: - I never knew I wanted a heated seat until I used one and then pooped somewhere else on a cold seat. - The flaps do their job magnificently. - There is actually an odor eliminator in the seat that starts when you sit. When you're sharing a bathroom and you both ate spicy tacos, this is super nice. - The seat is sort of awkwardly shaped in the back, but it makes you sit in just the right position to get sprayed in the right spot. - It hits that right spot and leaves both the wife and I feeling clean enough to let the other admire our butts with the confidence of knowing nothing was left behind. CONS: - The air dryer feels like it's blowing a very light breeze of cold air on your bum. It negates the benefit of having a warm water rinse. Also, the breeze is so light that it doesn't actually do anything to dry you off. I still find myself wiping once just to dry off. - You need to have an electric outlet near your toilet. I got super lucky and already had one there, but make sure you look for one. At my old house (and other bathroom) I would have needed to run an extension cord across the floor or over the sink to make this thing work. - It's kind of an energy hog. It's nice having a heated seat when you need it, but a real waste of energy to keep the seat warm while it waits for your cheeks. - The water pressure is lacking. I was somewhat surprised because we have phenomenal water pressure in the bathroom, but this is by far the weakest bidet of any that I have tried. It gets the job done, but I sometimes want to have a power washer scrape anything lingering around. I had a Tushy in a 3rd floor condo with awful water pressure and this is weaker than that. This might be necessary due to the need to heat the water before spraying it. More pressure = More Water = Less Time to heat water - Air dryer can send odors out of the toilet bowl and into the room. MAKE SURE YOU FLUSH BEFORE FIRING THAT UP! - That remote controlled unit was an extra $100. I opted for the one with the buttons on the side as the only means of control. In hindsight, the extra $100 might have been worth it. I don't use most of the buttons on the toilet because I can never remember what they all do and you never know what heat setting or pulse pattern it's on because I can't see the controller. I have a lot of pictures of my naked butt cheek and the control panel on my phone so I can figure out what's going on. Hopefully I'll memorize it some day, but as of now, I just use the rear wash and stop button when I poop. Read Less

I called Kohler who stated there should be no functional difference at all, although the date on the bidet I received is 2021. Next is the instruction manual. The literal first instruction is wrong - "On the underside of the mounting plate, adhere an additional pad over the existing pad at each end". There are no included pads, so this is very confusing. I discovered this was copied and pasted from the C3-420 manual and is irrelevant, so just ignore it. Then there's the instruction for the night light and the energy saving control - both incorrect. Funnily enough there are TWO different user manuals hosted by Kohler for this model and BOTH have the wrong instructions. Again, I did some Googling and found the instructions for E930 energy saver mode, and THOSE worked for me, thank goodness. To turn on the energy saver mode, press and hold the Seat Temp button until it starts flashing. Then let go, and press it again to choose the mode. Long beep = energy saver off (seat is always heated). One beep = lower temperature all the time, then heats more once you sit down. Two beeps = heat is off until you sit down. Sensor for the seat vice weight, remote is a pad so no drilling the wall to hold a remote, never runs out of hot water, and there are selections for night lite for the bowl if desired and no extra lights do the whole room isn’t lit especially handy for a master bath. Bought a different Brand before this Kohler & extremely pleased. Sensor for the seat vice weight, remote is a pad so no drilling the wall to hold a remote, never runs out of hot water, and there are selections for night lite for the bowl if desired and no extra lights do the whole room isn’t lit especially handy for a master bath. High quality, great well thought out features, amazing and very pleased with construction, quality, features, options and extremely happy with the features and product overall. If you’re looking…this is the product or you could take the scenic route, buy another brand, and figure this out….this is in the master bath and we moved the other brand we bought a few weeks ago into the guest bath. You need a Bidet seat…Kohler is the brand and product. Read Less

Unfortunately, it is physically incompatible with the otherwise excellent Medline toilet safety rails which I recently installed on the same toilet - it looks as if the two should fit together, but there is just insufficient clearance at the back of the bidet seat to slot it into its base with the safet... I am reasonably good with my hands and have a _lot_ of experience of reading (and writing!) instruction manuals. The bidet seat was well packed and reasonably easy to unpack and assemble in situ. Unfortunately, it is physically incompatible with the otherwise excellent Medline toilet safety rails which I recently installed on the same toilet - it looks as if the two should fit together, but there is just insufficient clearance at the back of the bidet seat to slot it into its base with the safety rail mount also installed. Not a complaint - just a 'buyer should know'. My problems started when I tried to test the various functions of the bidet. For good safety reasons, nothing works unless the seat 'thinks' someone is sitting on it. The instructions tell you manually to press on the right side of the seat (see Image 2) in order to release the safety mechanisms. This does not work reliably - it seems as if you have to press in exactly the right place, which isn't quite as shown on the diagram. If you are actually sitting on the seat, the controls do work and appear to do what they are supposed to (but see below), but you can't see what is happening. Obviously, this makes testing extremely difficult unless you want to 'experience' the functionalities - the seat isn't for me, and I don't! There are also some specific issues with a couple of settings: 1) The docs give quite detailed instruction for setting Energy Saving on the seat heater (Image 3). Unfortunately, these don't correspond with reality. Firstly, one would expect to be able to set 'all user' options when not sitting on the toilet. This is not possible, at all. If you are sitting on the toilet, following the instructions given produces various flash patterns of the three lights on the remote adjacent to the Seat Temp button, and I was eventually able to set the seat to 'advanced energy saving' - I am still not quite sure how! The instructions describe blinking _of_ _the_ _nightlight_, that does not occur. 2) The docs give instructions for turning off the nightlight functionality (Image 1). The Kohler support tech I spoke to confirmed that these are wrong - the manual has been updated to reflect newer firmware, but the printed manual shipped with the device was an older one. Given that a substantial number of this device's users are likely to be people much easier to confuse than I am, the manuals need to correspond much better with reality. Read Less
