Unfamiliar at first. Get over that, and it's undeniably better

I was wary at first, but a good bidet beats toilet paper. No contest. I was worried about the bidet itself getting dirty, but the wands pull out of the way and keep themselves clean, particular on this model with UV cleaning built-in. I was worried about discomfort, but after the first couple usages, you get used to it. We don't like to think about what, *ahem, gets left behind when using toilet paper. Water from a bidet does a far better job and doesn't waste paper. And keeping the controls and seat clean really hasn't been a problem at all.

Intuitive Interface: The side panel controls are a model of user-friendliness. Everything from spray strength to dryer temperature is clearly labeled and readily accessible. Nightlight Nirvana: The subtle nightlight is thoughtful, guiding you safely to the throne in the wee hours. Verdict: The Kohler PureWash E590 is more than just a bidet; it's a bathroom tech haven for everyone. Its blend of precision engineering, thoughtful features, and user-friendly design make it a winner in my book. Highly Recommend.

Great features. Love the heated seat in winter!!! Should have gotten the model w/ remote.

We got this to replace an American Standard bidet seat that eventually worked itself loose from our Kohler toilet. We got this to replace an American Standard bidet seat that eventually worked itself loose from our Kohler toilet. It was no longer possible to tighten that seat, so we decided to get one that exactly fit our Kohler. What I Like: — It fit absolutely perfectly on my elongated bowl Archer toilet and installed quickly and easily. (We don't do plumbing stuff well, but this was very easy.) — This seat has a low profile which looks so much better than the older model, high in the back, seats of every brand. — The seat is quite comfortable. — The controls are what I was used to (front, back, wand length adjustment, pulse massage, deodorizing fan, heated seat, adjustments for temp and strength of water stream) and are fairly standard on these seats at this point. — The heated seat. This is pretty much the height of civilization, imo. Life doesn't get much better than this! If you live where it gets cold in the winter or even just at night, I cannot emphasize how fantastic this feature is. I like all of the features of this seat, but the heat is easily my favorite. I had it on my previous seat as well and I've been spoiled by it. If I have to sit on a cold seat on a cold morning, it is a most unpleasant shock. The heat can be adjusted or completely turned off. — The UV sanitization feature. This goes on automatically, although getting it to go on only when you want it to, rather than constantly, was more difficult than it should have been. — The drying fan. I did not have this on my previous seat and it's a nice feature - cool, warm and hot. — The seat slips on and off its mooring very easily. This is a very important feature for being able to clean all around the seat. — The night light. My husband likes this feature more than I do. The two lights that make the nice blue glow at night, shine right into the water and are pretty bright when you open the toilet lid. I've learned to look away when opening the lid because the light is bright enough to wake me up more than I want in the middle of the night. There is no dimmer for the night light. It is either On or Off. But my husband is happy that he no longer had to turn a light on in the bathroom. What I Don't Like: — The placement of the controls. When you are sitting, the controls are at about 5:00 (if looking down). That means that you have to twist a bit to see the controls. My husband says he can feel which buttons to push now and no longer has to twist around, but I am still twisting. Not as much, but enough to bug me. My other seat had a remote control, and I should have gotten the Kohler seat that that had it, but the price difference was kind of ridiculous just for a remote. Bottom line: Overall, I like this seat very much. It fits perfectly, does everything it's supposed to do and is easy to clean, which is obviously important. And the heated seat is soooooo nice to have.

[Incentivized Review] Packed with features and easy to install

Awesome product that is packed with lots of features! Automatically senses when you sit on the seat, lots of customizable options including 2 presets, heated seat, deodorizer, UV disinfect, heated water, and night light! It was easy to install and fit our elongated toilet with no problem. The plumbing was really easy to install and it came with everything needed. The only other thing was having an electrician install an outlet nearby and then just plug it in. Works really well and we're overall happy with the product. Great job Kohler.

Almost great. Not sure about the pricetag.

I bought this because my wife is always worried about the bidet nozzle getting poop on it. Between the automatic rinses, the disinfecting UV light, and ESPECIALLY the door flaps protecting both the fan and nozzle from liquid poop splatters; I knew this was the right bidet for us. PROS: - I never knew I wanted a heated seat until I used one and then pooped somewhere else on a cold seat. - The flaps do their job magnificently....

- The flaps do their job magnificently. - There is actually an odor eliminator in the seat that starts when you sit. When you're sharing a bathroom and you both ate spicy tacos, this is super nice. - The seat is sort of awkwardly shaped in the back, but it makes you sit in just the right position to get sprayed in the right spot. - It hits that right spot and leaves both the wife and I feeling clean enough to let the other admire our butts with the confidence of knowing nothing was left behind. CONS: - The air dryer feels like it's blowing a very light breeze of cold air on your bum. It negates the benefit of having a warm water rinse. Also, the breeze is so light that it doesn't actually do anything to dry you off. I still find myself wiping once just to dry off. - You need to have an electric outlet near your toilet. I got super lucky and already had one there, but make sure you look for one. At my old house (and other bathroom) I would have needed to run an extension cord across the floor or over the sink to make this thing work. - It's kind of an energy hog. It's nice having a heated seat when you need it, but a real waste of energy to keep the seat warm while it waits for your cheeks. - The water pressure is lacking. I was somewhat surprised because we have phenomenal water pressure in the bathroom, but this is by far the weakest bidet of any that I have tried. It gets the job done, but I sometimes want to have a power washer scrape anything lingering around. I had a Tushy in a 3rd floor condo with awful water pressure and this is weaker than that. This might be necessary due to the need to heat the water before spraying it. More pressure = More Water = Less Time to heat water - Air dryer can send odors out of the toilet bowl and into the room. MAKE SURE YOU FLUSH BEFORE FIRING THAT UP! - That remote controlled unit was an extra $100. I opted for the one with the buttons on the side as the only means of control. In hindsight, the extra $100 might have been worth it. I don't use most of the buttons on the toilet because I can never remember what they all do and you never know what heat setting or pulse pattern it's on because I can't see the controller. I have a lot of pictures of my naked butt cheek and the control panel on my phone so I can figure out what's going on. Hopefully I'll memorize it some day, but as of now, I just use the rear wash and stop button when I poop.
