The bidet has provided a refreshing experience, leaving us both feeling cleaner and also reducing our toilet paper usage, which is a cost-saving benefit. That said, I think if more people were exposed to them their popularity would grow. When I first installed a bidet I was hesitant, and wondered if we would like it. After just a couple weeks of use we became spoiled. Now we don't like being away (travel, other locations, etc.) where there is not a bidet. My wife has commented on multiple occasions that one of the things she misses most about travel is her bidet! The control knob is simple. Turn one direction for a stream of water directed a little further back (aft), and turn it the other way for a more stream aimed a bit further forward (front). The water pressure intensifies as you turn further in either direction. I also like the sleek, streamlined look. I don't see being without a bidet in the future, and this one works well. There seems to be a trend toward bidets for more thorough cleaning although you will probably need a bit of toilet paper just for drying purposes. This bidet attachment is very easy to install. Basically, start by turning off your water supply. Flush the toilet and sponge out excess water from the inside of the tank. Unscrew the water supply hose going to your tank. Install the supplied 3-way adapter valve in its place. Connect your water supply to the bottom of this valve and then attach the supplied water line hose to the remaining connector on the valve and attach the other end of the hose to the underside copper coupling of the bidet control knob. Teflon tape is unfortunately not supplied so you will need to use your own. Attaching the bidet is also easy. Remove the toilet seat so that you can thoroughly clean the whole area. Follow the instructions to connect the bidet attachment parts. The bidet control knob is very sleek and smooth in its operation allowing you to adjust the pressure very easily by a simple turn of the control knob. It has a setting for a rear wash and a front wash (for women) as well. Also important to note is that you should not use the bidet (turn it on) while flushing the toilet (for obvious reasons). The only tools you will need are a screwdriver (for your toilet seat) and a wrench to tighten the connection on each end of the bidet hose. I have used other bidet models which use a hose sprayer system. These are a handheld system. The benefit of this one is that it is essentially hands-free. I am using this one as a replacement for my previously installed handheld sprayer hose system. There are bidets available with a warm water option but installation is more difficult as you need to run a hot water line to the bidet. Despite the water being cold, it is not the shock that you might expect if you have never used one of these. The water spray is actually somewhat pleasant and it is mere seconds for you to adapt to the water being sprayed on you. I suspect that that the sprayed area is perhaps not that sensitive to cold water. Overall, it is a very nice accessory for your toilet if you want to cut down on paper use and/or you just want a cleaner and fresher experience. Read Less

You need to really make sure the black rubber stopper is as far in as it goes and then get a very firm fit on the pipes or you will have nonstop leaks. The tap-cold water doesn't bother me, i thought it might but its not so much worse than heated bidets. You need to turn down your water faucet a bit to make sure the water doesnt come blasting out of the bidet even at the lowest setting youll have a lot of backsplash to clean up. Cant say I know how this product could be improved without an electric system. AFTER 2 MONTHS: After using this bidet only 2 months, now neither fossette works. The just trickle water out instead of spraying. At first one broke but i could still use the other. Now neither works. Read Less
