Disappointing product and customer support

I like many features of my Brondell S1000 bidet, including the shape, comfort, and controls. But I was disappointed when it began to fall apart. First, a water leak developed from the side [arrow #1 in photo] that was typically triggered by sitting on the seat or getting off. Apparently, this is a well-known problem with an internal gasket that could not be easily replaced; Brondell does not supply the gasket and keeps its size a secret, according to a YouTube vid...
I like many features of my Brondell S1000 bidet, including the shape, comfort, and controls. But I was disappointed when it began to fall apart. First, a water leak developed from the side [arrow #1 in photo] that was typically triggered by sitting on the seat or getting off. Apparently, this is a well-known problem with an internal gasket that could not be easily replaced; Brondell does not supply the gasket and keeps its size a secret, according to a YouTube video that documents the complex procedure for replacing it with the best approximation. I never attempted this difficult repair and simply caught the dripping water in a sponge for over a year. Second, the seat developed a large crack over the hinge [#2], more of an aesthetic than a functional issue. And finally, the whole back of the seat cracked in half [#3]. This all happened with normal use, under normal loads, indicating that the strength of the materials is inadequate. Given these serious defects I requested a replacement, but Brondell advised me that the warranty period has expired, and that I should pay for a repair myself or buy a replacement. Not their responsibility anymore. My experience is consistent with many other one-star reviews. Buyers beware!

Love the product

For Christmas we bought this model to replace our Brondell model S1000. Our TEN year old S1000 recently lost the ability to use the remote and we loved it so much we upgraded to the this newer model. The mounted hardware was exactly the same, and since there was nothing wrong with our first bidet toilet seat mounting hardware, it was a simple swap out of just the seat. We love the night light feature, and additional power to the drying fan. So far it has worked flawlessly.

Not good at getting you clean

You can run the sprayer on any setting and this one just doesn’t do very good at getting you clean. You will probably need more toilet paper than without this guy. Its pressure could be all the way up and it just isn’t designed to clean skin. I’ve had this one over a month and it’s a definite regret. I’d suggest getting a different product. Maybe they make one with better pressure settings.

First Time Buyer Beware

I purchased the Brondell Swash 1400 to replace my 6 year old one. If I didn't have a comparison to go by, I would have kept the one I ordered. The heater did not effectively heat the water like my last one. It was tepid on the highest setting (Red LED). Also, the water steam was noticeably less powerful. I called customer support who wanted me to jump through several hoops, review my case, and determine if I could use my warranty for a return. Since my purchase was...

The heater did not effectively heat the water like my last one. It was tepid on the highest setting (Red LED). Also, the water steam was noticeably less powerful. I called customer support who wanted me to jump through several hoops, review my case, and determine if I could use my warranty for a return. Since my purchase was within the return window, I chose to return my bidet back to Amazon and purchased another. The new Swash 1400 is working like my previous bidet. This is a great bidet with good features. I would buy another with hindsight. Don't forget that Brondell's warranty procedure sucks. They also require the original box for shipping back to them.

horrible customer service - poorly engineered lid

We’ve had this toilet seat bidet for almost 2 years now, this is the 1400 model. It’s worked fairly well, but recently we’ve noticed that the lid has cracked on both sides and it is engineered poorly when you look at how the lid is seated on the toilet seat itself. There is nothing supporting it. We also have the 1000 model in a different bathroom and that one is not engineered in the same way, it doesn’t have the same problem. I’ve been working with Customer Service for a couple of weeks now,...

Update: after 5 weeks, still unsuccessful in getting a supervisor to call me, with numerous emails and several phone calls to them. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

S1000 RW Filter houseing failure that caused flooding

Like many review's have noted, this is a great bidet. Mine was at 3 years old and had a failure in the plastic filter housing on the bottom of the seat. This failure was caught quickly due to it happened on a evening that we were at home enjoying some family time when the water started pouring from the kitchen recessed lights. I ran upstairs to the bathroom thinking one of the kids flooded the sink but found the lower side of the bidet with a full flow of water from where the filter housing was. The housing was being partially held in place by the toilet itself due to to filter houseing being 1/4" inward of the toilet bowell. I quickly turned off the water supply to the toilet and started grabbing towels to soak up the water. My wife had just used the bathroom less than ten minutes before and she did not notice anything. So, from sometime after she flushed the toilet to her coming downstairs and sitting for a few minutes the filter housing failed and flooded the bathroom floor and drained into the kitchen downstairs via the recessed lights. She was now grabbing towel's to soak up the water pouring out of the recessed lights in the kitchen downstairs. The water drained for about 15 to 20 minutes and I removed the lights to try and soak up as much water inside the pocket as possible to hopefully save the ceiling the kitchen. I contacted Brondell and started working with customer service. Not bad customer service but when I was told I would need to send the seat there at my cost and pay for parts and labor that may be close to $300, needless to say I declined after-all a new seat is $600 and who knows what upgrades they have done in three years. When communicating with Brondell service rep, they seemed to be interested in helping if my home inspector finds any water damage that needs address but I decided to work with my home insurance if that needs to happen. Getting a middle man involved would become a headache. Brondell requested video of the flooding but instead of making a viral video I addressed the issue and protected my home. I have attached a few pictures so others know what to watch for on there bidet, many probably have same type parts that could fail, so protect your home with a quick inspection. Another note, the filter housing itself failed last year, the plastic is just cheep plastic that is manufactured too thin. I had to work with costumer service just to get a new filter as Brondell has very few replacement parts for the do-it yourself type. That took the bidet out for a month as well. At last check, not many parts for this product are available to do repairs so you must contact the company and explain the whole issue before they send a part like a filter. I gave it two stars because we really liked the product and customer service for three years. But, for a $600 bidet, parts should not break that could cause a home to flood and then adding insult to injury, repairs would cost half the cost of a new one and may last another three years before it all starts over again. We will not be buying any Brondell products any longer, the cost is too high and the risk may be higher so its not worth my home in Brondell's R&Ds hands.

Not as comfortable as the cheaper

Not as comfortable as the cheaper models. Night light is on the outside instead of inside the bowl like the other models which is kind of pointless.

Remote has poor connection. Two Units.

I purchased one of these and returned it because the remote did not work. The second one the remote has poor and delayed connection each time you use it. When Guests use it sometime it will not turn off since the remote will not connect.
