Works with French curves!

I have enjoyed having an underseat, non-electric bidet for some time. But after recently installing a one-piece toilet with "French curves" (wide flair at the back of the bowl to the tank rather than rounded), I found that my old bidet would not fit! No problem, I thought. I'll just find one that does. To my surprise, there are almost none that do! There are a couple of high-end ($500-$600) electric bidets that say they "might" work with "some models." But I'm not about to pay that kind of money for what should be a simple device like this! Fortunately, I found the Bidet King website, where I found this bidet. It doesn't say so, although it should, but it certainly looked to me from the design that it should work. The problem with other units is that the control and connection is mounted too closely to the bowl and the connection mounts from underneath. Since with this model, the connection extends out to the side and the control is above the bowl line, it shouldn't be a problem. And it wasn't. The instructions are a bit lacking, but it's easy enough to figure out, and I'm sure Bidet King will help if you have trouble. There is a curved connector on one end of the braided hose, which I assume is intended to connect to the unit. Although this could have worked, since the connector can be positioned to point rearwards, I found it easiest to connect the other end, which is straight, and connect the curved end to the coupling that joins the water supply, tank, and bidet together. Works like a charm! Although this design is slightly more expensive than the under-seat units, I think it is better anyway. It incorporates a high quality toilet seat, with the soft-close feature. Such seats typically run about $40 or more by themselves. It also provides a more "finished" look. The front and back washing options also allow for some options in terms of positioning of the stream, even when used for washing just the back side. I would recommend this unit to anyone considering a non-electric bidet. The side-controls otherwise have a somewhat messy look to them. This one is also quite easy to remove for cleaning. The connector hose remains attached, but the seat/bidet can be easily removed and replaced. As to non-electric, I wouldn't consider anything else. Unless you are a very tender flower, you do not need warm water in that area. It's no more sensitive to cold than your hands, or your mouth. You never think twice about picking up a cold beverage in your hand and dousing your mouth with ice cold water! And blow-dry? Please. I can't imagine using the warm water or blow-dry functions even if they were available. And talk about a hassle to install!

What a mess. The handle does not properly control the actions of the nozzle. And the angle of the nozzle is completely wrong. Rather than coming straight out of its slot, it should come out at an angle. I do NOT recommend this product at all.

Great Bidet

Easy hook-up. Love the way the whole bidet hooks up and stays in place. Few adjustments to make to have the wash spouts hit right, but a great bidet for the price. The off handle has to be set just right; in the middle. Love it!

Disappointing

Getting used to a bidet for the first time, so am giving it lots of time before removing it. It's been months now. The overall negative has to do with the seat size. It's vastly smaller than a regular toilet seat which crams your anatomy into the area. Not comfortable to sit or use the toilet. And the rear extensor tube comes out and hits your anatomy--and stays there. It will only withdraw when you move your bottom. It also splashes water all over your hind end, making using toilet paper a must...

It also splashes water all over your hind end, making using toilet paper a must to dry off. I wanted to vastly reduced my reliance upon toilet paper for a number of reasons. Not happening. As I said, giving it and myself lots of time, but in all likelihood, it will take its place in the store room and the regular seat will return.

I installed bidet today, January 27th 2018. Company provided 2 ways to attach mounting plate to toilet bowel, I chose to attach mounting plate using the 2 plastic screws with plastic nuts which are screwed on by hand but one of the 2 plastic screws was milled incorrectly forcing me to use adjustable wrench once the nut was half way screwed on causing a little frustration. The provided tee will not work, the threaded side which screws onto the tank side is not designed correctly. The tee might work if you used tread tape but I would not chance and instead used a 3 way tee from Hibbent (bought the hibbent tee from amazon). If you use the tee from hibbent you can’t use the provided water supply hose which goes from tee into the connector on the bid it seat, you will need to purchase a 1/2” FIP 3/8” Comp supply hose which can be found at any large building supply comp such as Lowe’s or Homedepot. I have pictures of the hibbent tee valve and hose which I used and purchased separate. I purchase because I feel the solid brass valve this company used is far superior than the plastic valves used by others in this price range. Install took a little longer because of the messed up thread on one of the two plastic screws provided but the install took only about 30 minutes. I had to remove toilet seat to adjust the mounting plate one notch closer because the toilet lid wasn’t flush with front of toilet bowel...this is normal unless you get lucky and have the mounting plate at correct setting on your first try. The mounting plate is made to allow these adjustments if needed and a good feature. Now as far as butt testing the bidet seat, the pressure from the 2 wands are great. Push the lever backwards toward tank and you get bottom spray from one of the 2 nozzles, push lever forward toward front of toilet and you get frontal spray from the other nozzle. A problem I had was the nozzle rubbed up against my bum and would not retract once lever spray was turned off. I have to position myself just right when I sit or nozzle won’t retract until I either lift myself up a little or tilt myself forward a bit. I know what you may be thinking but I’m not that big a guy :) Unfortunately you can’t adjust the angel of the nozzles. Now for my 2 cents worth, the nozzles need to come out slightly lower to clear/prevent rubbing against the bum. I’m not rating this product lower for the messed up screw (happens nor for the incorrect 3 way tee but I have to lower it by 2 stars due to the nozzle issue. Hopefully the company will improve on nozzle issue for future improvement) PS, I did buy the Alpha One V2 improved seat design. One last thought to the company, would thicker bumpers too the seat increase the distance ones bum would have in retrospect to the nozzles? February 1, 2018: Now that I have got to use the bidet for a few days. This manufacturer could nail this item if they would make the seat itself adjustable by 2 inches forward or backwards, that would let the user adjust so spray would hit the bullseye :) without having to shift ones bum around on the seat. Plus make the seat sit about quarter inch higher so wand does not occasionally rub the bum or have wands come out at a lower angle.
