This is my first bidet and I've got to say I'm impressed. The heated seat is wonderful when the house is cool in the winter and the heated spray is divine. Our use of bathroom tissue has been reduced to almost zero since I installed this bidet. You just need a little bit to dry off. The remote control is very easy to use and allows you to select different functions such as spray intensity, spray location and massage features.

This seat is great; you can retro fit your existing toilet so you save hundreds of dollars and this seat has all the high end features of a $1000 plus smart toilet and can be installed in minutes. Adjustable heated seat, adjustable heated water, control of the strength and position of the water streams, slow close seat and cover, remote control; this seat has everything! And it's pretty cool looking. Just remember that you do need to plug this seat into a regular outlet, so plan accordingly.

[Incentivized Review] Works great!

We've had this thing for about a week now and it's pretty awesome. You can control the spray direction, strength, and temperature. The seat itself is comfortable, though it does look pretty huge on the toilet. The remote control works well and has enough range to work from outside of the bathroom, so this is a great bonus: 1) when you have friends over, take the remote out of the bathroom; 2) when they ask about the "contraption on the toilet" say it's a seat warmer and encourage them to try it out (who wouldn't?) 3) wait about 30 seconds, then press the button. 4) FUN.

The electric bidet toilet seat was pretty simple to install. It comes with with rubber bushings that have nuts inside that go into the two holes on the toilet. This makes it easier to attach the toilet seat without having to reach under and hold the nuts. The plumbing part was easy to install. I did have to buy a new hose because the washer was worn on the old hose and it leaked. The remote works well. You can adjust the seat temperature, water temperature, the strength of the jets, and the position of the wand. It also has an eco mode to save energy. I'm not in a cold climate, so having a warm seat is not an issue. It works well and I'm pretty happy.

Comfortable to use, works pretty well, but doesn't totally get the job done

This is my first ever SpaLet style seat at home, although I have seen them before in hotels. This is my first ever SpaLet style seat at home, although I have seen them before in hotels. I wasn't ever comfortable trying out the spray at a hotel because I didn't actually know where the water came from or how they worked, but I did a bunch of research before ordering this and am now a lot more comfortable with the idea of it. In general, I do like it and am glad that I installed it, but it doesn't totally clean down yonder. Three big things to me after researching were: (1) the water comes straight from the main wall supply, and is stored in an internal tank in the seat where it is heated, (2) the nozzles fully retract under a cover when not in use, and (3) the nozzles are self-cleaning. So, assuming that the internal tank doesn't get grimy, the water should be clean. The nozzles aren't out while you're taking care of business, and they clean themselves (I believe before and after use), so they should also be clean. Before getting into the pros of this unit, there are some things that I want to point out: (*) When installed with the seat up, it blocks off about 15% of the opening to the bowl on the side of the toilet tank. I hadn't ever seen an image of what this looks like with the seat up, and that surprised me a bit. Makes sense because the nozzle assembly has to be forward of the lip of the bowl. I just hadn't thought of that (*) While it does reduce the amount of wiping, it doesn't eliminate it. Maybe I just need to work on my technique, but I've been using it for two weeks now (*) The internal tank helps reduce the current draw from the outlet compared to a seat that heats the water on demand, but it also means that when the hot water runs out...you're going to get sprayed with cold water. Well, you, or whoever follows you. The cold water is bearable, but definitely not preferable (*) To state the probably obvious, but I hadn't thought about it before reading someone state it - you need an electrical outlet for this. Like others, I'm currently running an extension cord because I don't have an outlet near my toilet (how many people do?). I do think that I like it enough to install an outlet, though The things that I really like about it are: (*) Super easy to install. The most time consuming part for me was totally cleaning the whole toilet and surrounding area. Installing this took maybe ten minutes (*) Heated seat and water spray, with five different settings for each. I didn't think that I'd care about the heated seat, but I'm digging it. The heated spray, IMO, is an absolute must (see note above) (*) The self-cleaning retractable nozzles, which I think are standard for this type of seat (*) It's comfortable to sit on. I'm used to wooden seats and wasn't sure about a plastic one, but I like it. All of the surfaces are nicely rounded (*) Adjustable nozzle position. Not really a requirement, but it's nice to have (*) Adjustable spray pressure. You can go from a gentle clean to something more brisk, but none of them are actually abrasive feeling. I was afraid that this would feel like a fire hose on my nether regions, but it absolutely doesn't Something that I'm neutral on: (*) The remote. In some ways, it's nice that it isn't right on the seat. But, you need to find a place for it (I currently just sit it on the back of my toilet tank). I think that I'd actually prefer the controls to be on the side of the seat (which is an option that they offer in this seat) (*) Plastic versus stainless steel nozzles. Sure, I'd like stainless steel, but Toto (the leading brand) also uses plastic, so they must not be that bad Something that it doesn't have: (*) Forced air drying. After getting this and researching some more, I learned that other models have heated forced air drying. I think that would be nice, but since I think that you'll need to wipe anyway, wiping away a little water is no big issue to me I absolutely like it and am glad that I got it, but it's not perfect. Be prepared to still have to do some clean up afterwards, but it does feel better than wiping alone.

Bidet

The bidet was bought to match to commode in style and mfg. The adj. seat temp. and adj. water temp. are nice features. The water spout location is adj., but more location settings would be better. The one negative is that the seat tends to move about in its mount too much. All in all, not bad though.

[Incentivized Review] It made my family happy

We installed the bidet about a month ago and have been using it since. I am someone who is rather used to assemble furniture myself and to do minor repair around the house, including light plumbing. The installation manual of the bidet was nice enough, easy to understand and no major errors jumped at me. That's important because nothing is more frustration than a bad manual. The installation itself was a little tricky, though. Our water connection between faucet and toilet reservoir was a fixed pipe. I needed to exchange it to a flexible one, in order to get the necessary room for the T-junction, the junction where the water splits between going to the reservoir and the bidet. In the same trip to our local hardware store I also got yet another adjustable wrench, as the standard IKEA one does not apply enough force and the other ones would be too large to handle between toilet bowl and wall. I then tried for a really long while (2 hours maybe?) to get said T-junction flush against the water inlet pipe of the reservoir. I needed to really force the rubber washer inside the winding of the nut, adjust the angle while laying under the toilet bowl to screw the stuff together (get out those disinfectant wipes before going there). The whole construction of bidet pipes would always tilt the T-junction in a certain direction, it wouldn't be flush and would then leak. From all those readjustment the plastic winding of the reservoir inlet pipe ended up torn and it would leak even more. Eventually I gave up, completely exhausted and annoyed. My husband then brute forced it together, unloading a lot of anger into that wrench. Then it stopped leaking and now it sits there rock solid. I am not a weak person, not at all, but I did not manage to get it tight enough apparently. I deviated from the manual in that I did not screw the holder of the remote to the wall and rather used those velcro tape stripes meant for hanging heavier picture frames to tape the holder to our tile wall. I placed it above the toilet paper holder, which seems to be the perfect position for that thing. We never take the remote out of the holder and just press the buttons there. Oh, and how many buttons there are! The remote is very intuitive to use, but the bidet has so many features! You can adjust the water temperature (my favorite), the seat temperature (that'll be nice come winter in the mornings), spray angle and spray position (hello there, monthly female re-occurrence) and intensity (we don't change that much though), and some more stuff that I frankly haven't used yet. I love that I use way less toilet paper, that I am cleaner and that the water is warm and ends up just where it needs to go. I did use many bidets in the past and this one is by far the nicest to handle. My husband loves that the nozzle only appears when in use, and otherwise is out of the way of action. My husband's family is from the Middle East, where bidets are as common in the toilets as microwave ovens are in the kitchen. And they love this bidet. Now they're asking me where we got it from and whether I can install it at theirs. In the meantime they love using our restroom. Which is not weird at all.... Bottom line: Once you got it installed (and yes, you could get a plumber to do that for you), it's a dream to use and have. Go for it!

If you like it, expect to replace it!

Absolutely loved this bidet when we acquired it. It was included when we installed an American Standard walk-in-tub. It worked great for about 5 years but now the nozzles will not extend so it is basically worthless. I have contacted American Standard and am being told that there are no repair parts available. My wife and I are too spoiled by the bidet to go back to toilet paper alone, but I will be buying another brand hoping to find one with more longevity and hopefully repair capability, if that becomes necessary.

This works great overall, installation was a minor pain and the instructions were a little misleading but the bidet itself is a great product, the seat is heated and the water jet temperature can be adjusted to over 100 degrees, however the warm water doesn't last long, it will begin to cool and eventually become cold. The elongated toilet seat real estate area is definitely compromised with a large portion of the rear space being taken up the the mechanical's of the bidet. The contour of the seat itself positions your body more forward but lines you up almost perfectly for the sprayer. The remote control is mounted to the vanity or a wall and can be easily picked up and hand held (so you can see what buttons to press). The options include Water temp control "Front and Rear" sprayers Adjustable spray nozzle position (which I wasn't really able to seem to tell if it moved or not). Nozzle "cleansing Sprayer strength adjustment (goes up to 29 psi) Power saving (for either the remote or seat or both). Seat Temp (the seat will stay warm all the time unless you choose power saver which shuts it off for 8 hours). And of course "STOP" The main drawback of having this unit in my bathroom is the power cord. My single power outlet is above the counter top on the wall opposite of the bathroom so I need to use an extension cord and run it across my counter. This looks bad and I'm going to have to find a better way to run/hide the cord. Most likely under and around the vanity (rather than up over the counter). A couple of plumbing notes: The included supply hose comes with the pass through "T" so you can simply insert the hose between the toilet and the water supply line (note, this goes at the 7/8" connector on your toilet (not the water supply valve which is only 3/8"). Also, the connector is brass. Be careful threading it to your toilet's connection if it is plastic like mine, ours is new style and the threads can easily be crossed when you go brass to plastic. Also, the instructions show the toilet mounting plate upside down which you'll realize is wrong when the screws and mounting blocks do not hold it in place that way. The black no slip strips on the plate must be facing down.
