This unit is fantastic. It works just like a separate bidet and it is simple to use and works very well. I have wanted a bidet for years and now I have one without having to build a bigger bathroom. I really like the adjustable heat feature of this toilet seat which is perfect for cold northern nights. There is an eco button so that it does not heat during the day if you don't want to. It has an excellent instruction manual and was easy to install, easy to use and adjust the settings. It had some surprise features like a deodorizer that works before and after use. It has a soft close seat so no loud bangs when it is closed. The easy to reach controls on the right side offer all the features available and are labeled in a way that they are not hard to read. The quick remove button on the side allows for cleaning and adjusting the mount for installation. The seat is a little big and takes a little getting used to at first. I've used many different bidet seats before, all of them are manual, but the SpaLet Bidet Seat is a different story! It is an amazing product that must be in every house. First, the idea of using a bidet is fantastic. It leaves you 100% clean and boost your confidence in your personal hygiene. I don't know why here in America we still insist on using toilet papers, it something that I consider very primitive in the 21st century. The SpaLet Bidet Seat is very well build, with high quality materials. It comes with everything you need for installing it. Installation is very straight forward. The installation manual is clear and simple. If you are a DIY person it will take you less than 30 mins to install it. For me, it took me about 40 minutes as I had to remove a manual bidet seat before installing the SpaLet seat. The only thing that you have to consider is a GFCI power outlet near the toilet to supply electricity, this wasn't a problem for me though. The seat is loaded with a lot of features. The remote makes it convenient and very easy to use. It is easy enough for my 4 and 7 years old girls, they love it and named it "The Super Potty"!! :) My favorite feature is the warm water. It is very convenient in the cold winter days when the water temperature is freezing cold (comparing it to my old manual bidet seat which lacks this feature). The adjustable water pressure is OK, but I wished the highest settings would be a bit stronger. The heated seat feature is nice although I have it turned off all the time as I don't find it very useful. My wife and the little girls like the women's cleaning feature a lot. The slow-close lid is nice and adds the luxury look to the toilet seat. The only con I found is the power saving mode, having to press the eco button to enable it for 8 hours is not convenient - something that I forget to do it every night. I wish if it was automated. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product. I recommend it in every bathroom. If you want to do yourself a favor, buy one and try it, you will never be disappointed. This American standard bidet gives me a new kind of cleansing experience which is a new standard of clean and comfort. The posterior and anterior cleaning is great. I love the idea of different level settings for water pressure, water temperature and heated seat temperature that allow the freedom to personalize the cleansing experience since we all are different. The Posterior massage oscillation is new kind of experience. The lid won't bang down since it has a slow close feature and it can be easily removed with a push of a button in case you need to do a detailed cleaning. The installation was very easy and it took only about 45 minutes. The only thing I am not very comfortable is the bulky wireless remote control, which is about 10.5 inches long and about 3.5 inches wide. We recently purchased a Toto toilet and Washlet and as we liked the functions so much, we purchased the American Standard Spalet bidet for our downstairs bathroom, since we already had an American Standard toilet. We recently purchased a Toto toilet and Washlet and as we liked the functions so much, we purchased the American Standard Spalet bidet for our downstairs bathroom, since we already had an American Standard toilet. Despite measuring the toilet accurately with the help of our plumber, the Spalet didn't fit the original toilet so we purchased an up-to-date toilet which we were assured would fit. However, it only just fits - the Spalet is much bigger than the Toto Washlet and barely fits onto the toilet. The seat is less secure and the lid is large and flops down onto your back if you sit too far back. Aesthetically, it is bulky and does not look as neat as the Toto version. The controls are not as intuitive so, all in all, I would say that it does an adequate job as far as the washing and drying are concerned but I would not recommend it highly. Having the controls on a remote also keeps it out of the path of those with bad aim! Integrated water heater and seat heater. Has an ECO power saving mode. This feature reduces power consumption by turning off the water heater and seat heater for 8 hours while you are at work. The power settings are automatically restored after 8 hours just in time for you when you get back home. Self Cleaning Nozzles - Nozzles are rinsed with water before and after cleansing. What it is missing that some other bidet seats have, is an air dryer. You will still need some paper. Unfortunately this American Standard Spalet Bidet seat did not fit my American Standard Cadet one piece elongated bowl toilet. I even have an American Standard soft close toilet seat on it. The bidet toilet seat is too wide at the mounting point for my toilet. I will need to replace my toilet in order to use this bidet seat. An elongated bowl toilet is required for this seat, but this seat does not fit any elongated bowl toilet as others have said. Always check to make sure it will fit before buying, or make sure it will fit any replacement toilet you are planning to purchase. You will need to have a GFCI (ground-fault circuit interrupter) electrical outlet near by; the supplied power cord is about 40 inches long. It is a bit bulky. But American Standard has packed a lot of features into this Spalet Bidet seat. The seat arrived packed very well damage free, with the main box packed inside of another larger box.  Read Less
