After receiving a Toto bidet seat as a Christmas gift, my husband and I have become converts. These things are a total game changer in feeling clean and fresh all day long. With this new “enlightened world view” my husband and I set out to convert all of the remaining toilet seats in our domain. Unfortunately as we began to add up the number of toilets in our two homes and the associated costs we began to consider alternatives. We began reflecting on what features were the most important to us and which ones we could live without. The American Standard was less expensive and looked promising so we decided to purchase it to test and compare with our more expensive Toto. We installed it in the powder room of our main home and we’re pleasantly surprised. While it lacks the features of a remote control, dryer, bowl pre mister, air deodorizer, presets, etc, it has the features that we want and use the most. It also produces a larger spray of water than the Toto which we prefer. It fit great on our powder room’s elongated toilet and we couldn’t have been more happy with our decision. We also have cottage which has a Kohler Memories round toilet. Since it’s round and not elongated we initially thought that the American Standard wouldn’t work. We strongly prefer the look of a low profile bidet seat (especially on a round bowl) but the only ones we could find were by Toto and they were running around a grand. Having been so pleased with our American Standard bidet seat we took some measurements and decided to take a chance and see if we could make it fit on our round toilet. The installation went great and fits with plenty of room! The bidet seat’s shape isn’t a perfect match for the round bowl but we decided that it matches up well enough for our casual beach cottage and the overall appearance was pretty good. If American Standard would ever consider making the more perfect round shaped seat available we will replace it in a heartbeat! Until that time we will happily live with this one and possibly upgrade to the more expensive round Toto model down the road once this one has lived out it’s useful existence. Bought in response to the toilet paper crisis over covid-19. People are going crazy buying all the toilet paper! This seat installed easily on our American Standard elongated toilet. Took about half an hour, did not end up needing plumbers tape, no leaks, fits great, took out the pressure regulator prior to install and cleaning pressure is perfect. Cool water only, it feels actually refreshing. No fancy blow dryer, but I have a basket of dedicated basic white washcloths next to the toilet for pa... Read More

Bought in response to the toilet paper crisis over covid-19. People are going crazy buying all the toilet paper! This seat installed easily on our American Standard elongated toilet. Took about half an hour, did not end up needing plumbers tape, no leaks, fits great, took out the pressure regulator prior to install and cleaning pressure is perfect. Cool water only, it feels actually refreshing. No fancy blow dryer, but I have a basket of dedicated basic white washcloths next to the toilet for patting dry and I am all set. I ordered this for $64 on March 12, looks like the price has doubled as the TP shortage is dragging on, supply and demand I guess, even so I would still recommend it. I'm not yet sold on bidets, and I may never be. I feel no obligation to use one just because the rest of the worlds does. In fact, I resent the widespread notion that there's something wrong with Americans because we don't want water gushing up into our hidden parts after we use them. I'm not a woman, so I can't say this with authority, but I suspect that women might like them better than I do. Of this product's two functions, the one that's called "bidet" is for women to rinse off after "number one", as kids used to call it. Since the parts to be rinsed off are already wet, a spray of water doesn't add anything weird and could be very helpful. So what this bidet calls "bidet" is not for men at all. That leaves the other function, which this product calls "wash". Its water jets are aimed farther back, for washing up by both sexes after "number two". Here's where it's so weird that I probably never will get used to it. The problem is that number two normally does not leave the parts involved wet, and adding water to the non-liquid that IS there makes matters worse, not better. There's no way to tell when and if everything that needs to be washed off is gone, and toilet paper disintegrates when it's time to dry off all that water--and find out if indeed water is all that's left there to wipe off. The whole thing adds a lot of complication and no significant benefit that I can find. Even if this product included a heated-air dryer, as some bidet seats do, the question of knowing for sure that everything is clean remains. Wiping with toilet paper, followed by a wet wipe, is a much simpler and MUCH more reliable way to clean up thoroughly afterwards. But if you DO want an add-on bidet seat, this one is probably the best to start with. It's very easy to install, although you have to replace your toilet's water line with a flexible hose if it's currently a rigid pipe. I was afraid that the waterworks at the back would encroach into the elongated opening, but the seat just shifts the opening forward an inch or two instead of shortening it. There's a button to unlatch the seat from its mount very easily, but you also have to turn off the water and unscrew the water line to take the seat off, so the "quick-release" feature isn't really a huge benefit.  Read Less
