I wish I had purchased the bidet years ago. With age I have developed quite a bit of arthritis and reaching and twisting can be painful. After one use I knew I had made an extremely beneficial purchase. The bidet is easy to use, allowing the user to control the force and direction of the spray. A small amount of toilet tissue is all that is required for blotting dry. I used to use several flushable wipes and since the bidet was installed I have not needed even one. I have been using the bidet for about 6 weeks and I have already recommended purchase to my friends and family. One of the questions frequently asked is about the temperature of the water. I was surprised that water temperature is not at all an issue. Friends are also wondering if any part of the bidet makes contact with the body and the answer is no. There is nothing negative for me to comment. With use, one can have an "after shower clean" feeling and assurance of fresh personal hygiene. My son was able to easily install the bidet seat with the connection to the water supply in less than 20 minutes.  Read Less

Can anyone explain to me why we Americans have not hopped on board the bidet train? They've been using bidets in Europe for decades...almost every bathroom I've ever visited during my many trips to Europe has had a bidet. Even the cheapest hotel room in a low-rent district, or the humblest little water closet in the back corner of an unassuming trattoria, has a bidet. Most of the private homes we've been in had them in every WC. And yet we never find them in the US, unless you are staying at the Ritz or some chi-chi hotel populated by wealthy international clientele. We just bought this. Now this might seem like an extravagance, but we did so because we have learned that the plumbing system in our 50-year-old house is rather fragile, and we were searching for ways to reduce the strain on it, thereby ultimately saving money in future plumbing repairs. Without being indelicate, let me just explain that using one of these can mean far less usage of TP. Which is not only good for our ancient pipes, but also for saving trees. We got it today, and it's AWESOME! Easy installation. Heated seat (awfully welcome during these coldest days of the year), gentle stream of warm water, adjustable nozzle position for either...as they say euphemistically in the manual..."back" or "front" washing. And some other interesting features too, which I haven't yet explored, and might not. Here's the thing: Americans tend to be far more fastidious than other parts of the world, in terms of bathing frequency, general hygiene, germaphobia, etc. And yet we walk around with dirty bums, while our less-frequently-bathed European brethren walk around with nice clean ones! We wish they sold a left-handed model so that the hoses would not be visible from the right side, not the end of the world but would improve for our configuration and probably 50% of the users. We really love the clean look of this bidet, which is the biggest advantage over competing products, and the reason I purchased this one over others. We wish they sold a left-handed model so that the hoses would not be visible from the right side, not the end of the world but would improve for our configuration and probably 50% of the users. The aim of the water stream is still a bit forward (speaking personally for male setting) and we find ourselves having to adjust our body to get the stream to hit it's "mark". The biggest issue we have is that the toilet seat does not stay up with our toilet, since the lid of our toilet has an edge that sticks out and prevents the lid & seat from opening to 95-degree angle. With this the seat it constantly falls, so for boys/men, they need to hold the seat up while standing and using the toilet. We have young boys and they already are challenged to hit the bowl without the added task of holding the seat up at the same time. One of my sons has stopped using this bathroom because of this. Also wish they had this in a wood option as the plastic feels very cheap when previously had a wood seat/lid.  Read Less

The benefit of this Brodell bidet is it is the seat itself, so no controls precariously extended off to one side, or the seat crushing down on the plastic construction. Nope. Here the seat contains everything. This bidet has dual cleaning, and self-cleaning features. It's entirely mechanical; no electricity required. On the other hand, if your tushy is not an identical twin to the model used to line up the geyser on this private water fountain, then this show is going to be more like Shamu spraying the bleachers from his blowhole. You will do some scooching, and even then.... But there are other cons. For a seat intended for elongated toilets, it did not reach end to end; in fact, it was necessary to float it somewhat in the middle just to make sure it had a grip in the back and the front. It is undersized; it reduces an elongated toilet. It is also uncomfortable with a narrow rim to support you, like sitting on a windowsill--guaranteeing you won't stay there long. The plastic is also the type to adhere to human flesh, choosing to complete your business with a sharp clap back onto the porcelain tank as you rise to take a bow. But to end on a positive note: the soft close is so appreciated at night. Just a gentle tap and the seat cover begins its gentle, slo-mo fall, cutting off the most fascinating bowl of water in the house from Chubby Chester. Meow!  Read Less
