This works really well for a non electric bidet. It was easy to install and looks like a regular toilet seat and lid when closed. It has two different spray options. It's easy to use. The only drawback is the the water is not heated. That takes some getting used to but otherwise it's great.
Pros Durable, Easy to Use, Sturdy, High Quality, Easy to Install, Looks Great, Nice Design

Didn’t last

This was very easy to install however it doesn’t seem to stay put on my cadet toilet. Unfortunately after a year and a half the water isn’t coming out well and has some type of glitch and won’t continuously spray or heat up. I tried contacting American Standard but since it was outside of its warranty there wasn’t any help. I was hoping this would last for longer than a year and a half.

The seat itself is comfortable, but you do lose some sitting room and the opening is smaller compared to the regular toilet seat it replaced, because the back part of the seat that houses the electronics and such take up some of the space. It is also simple to use, there are two buttons on left that toggle through low, medium and off settings for the heated seat temperature and water temperature. The dial on the right controls the water flow and ‘aim’ (forwards for front, back for rear and center for ‘off’). The flow isn’t overpowering, but enough to get you clean, and the water warms almost instantly. The sprayer itself is contained when not it use and has a self cleaning system, while the exterior doesn’t appear to be any more difficult to clean than any other seat. It also has a light that automatically illuminates for nighttime visits. My only complaint would be that the cord could be a little longer. I was able to reach mine on the opposite side, but an extra foot or two would’ve been nice so I could tuck it away better.
In summary, it may seem a little expensive at first, but when you consider what you pay for a night or two at a fancy hotel compared to something like this that will last you for years of use, I think it is totally worth it. It will also save you money on toilet paper (although you’ll still need some to dry off) and have less impact on your pipes and the environment. It will get you cleaner and the seat heater and warm water are an added comfort. Go ahead and get one…your posterior will thank you later.

I installed this in our master bathroom and we have used it for about a month now. Since my wife often uses flushable wipes, I got this in hopes of eliminating (or at least significantly decreasing) such usage since they can cause plumbing issues (i.e. clogs!). This was super easy to install...took less than 20 minutes. It comes with a cord that when plugged in heats the seat and the water, but you can also use it without plugging it in which is what we've been doing since we don't necessarily care about a heated seat and/or water. It has two directions of spray (a slightly forward direction and a rear [no pun intended!] direction). You simply use the dial/switch on the side to turn on the spray (move it forward for the front area and move it backward for the rear). It also has two flow settings (min, max) for each direction...so you can choose to spray a little or a lot depending on the situation. We absolutely LOVE this product!!! I wasn't sure how much I would actually use it when I got it but I think I use it more than my wife at this point! Lol It's just so easy and convenient to use. It's also self cleaning btw so now worries there, and the lids are self closing so no more accidentally "dropping" the toilet seat! I would definitely encourage people to check this product out. It's high quality and works flawlessly...and it will definitely eliminate or at least save on the use of flushable wipes!!! :) Totally worth it. Thinking about actually getting one for my parents since we love it so much.

We have had the AquaWash 2.0 SpaLet Electric Bidet Seat for Elongated Toilet for about a month now. This is our first bidet experience so we can not compare to any other kind of bidet, but we are very impressed with American Standard's attention to detail. The seat is comfortable, all the features are easy to access, and the wands work perfectly.
First, we recommend you look at the videos from American Standard. We find they are true to the product.

First, we recommend you look at the videos from American Standard. We find they are true to the product.
We thought it looked like there was not much room in the seat opening because the wands are stored in the back, but that is not a problem at all. It is very comfy. The seat is not cold at all during the warmer months, but we tried the heater quiet a bit in the first few days and it works very well.
We do not see a need for the remotes that come with other bidets. Adjusting the temp of both the seat and the water is very easy to do while sitting. The water is heated, but it will take a second or two after the water begins to get warm. The dial to select which wand to use and the pressure of the water is all in one and is also super easy to reach and turn.
There is a sensor on the left side of the seat and as soon as pressure is applied there is a rush of water that rinses the wand area. If you have someone who sits every time they do anything in the bathroom it will use water and we do wonder if this is going to effect the water bill. Sliding the seat off for cleaning and cleaning the wands is really easy as well. Again, attention to detail was not missed.
Installation was pretty easy and only took about 30 minutes. All that was needed in our situation was a crescent wrench. Don't forget you need an electrical outlet next to your toilet.
The night light is a nice bonus. It is a very subtle shade of blue. Not at all intrusive to your eyes in a dark room. It would be nice if there was a way to turn it off in the day or have a night sensor.
If you are looking for a bidet and not interested in replacing your entire toilet you can not go wrong with the AquaWash 2.0 SpaLet Bidet Seat. Seriously.

While not my first experience with bidets, this is the first one I was allowed in the house. While leaps and bounds better than the basic bolt on cleaners spraying cold water it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of higher end bidets with remotes, natural sounds and driers. Still at half the price of top shelf units this ended up being a fantastic buy for comfortable freshness.

Overall I'm impressed with the Aquawash. It's easy to install with the supplied bracket, provides great cleaning, includes intuitive controls, comes off with the push of a button for cleaning and adds additional creature comforts (heated seat/water and lighted bowl). One thing I'll add as a pro vs other reviews - I like the chime while it's operating. As a father of small children it's an added safety net - though they're good at turning it off.
There's a lot to talk about so let's break this down into a few parts:
Installation:
Getting the old seat out was the larger challenge. Once removed the new seat went in easily with two rubber inserts going through the seat mounting holes on the toilet which secured the mounting bracket with two bolts/washers. To align the seat I
1.) Left the bolts a little loose
2.) Clicked on the seat
3.) Moved it to where I wanted
4.) Used the one button release to remove the seat
5.) Tightened the bolts
For the plumbing you simply remove the connection to your toilet bowl then connect the provided splitter and hoses. My only caution (and critique) is the fittings are regrettably plastic. Make sure you're not cross threading them when they go on. Otherwise just enough pressure to seal then another 1/4 turn was my approach.
Review of the seat.
Creature comforts - This is one of the benefits of a full seat based unit vs the bolt on sprayers - added comforts. There are two buttons on the left side controlling heated water and seat. Press once for low heat, press again for higher heat and press one more time to turn them off. Each setting is displayed by an led off (off), low heat (dimmer light), high heat (brighter light). Sitting on the toilet runs the water to ensure the system is primed with warmed water when you need it.
Easy of use - The dial is illuminated (as is the bowl) sufficiently for night operations without messing up night vision. The control itself is very simple turn the knob forward to activate front cleaning and to the rear for the other cleaning. The more you turn the dial the greater the pressure.
Easy of cleaning - On the right hand side simply press a button and the toilet seat slides off. Clean where you will and you can also activate the toilet while aiming it at the bowl to clean the nozzles. The supplied hose is a little long to make this easier which I didn't realize as a pro until the first time I cleaned the bathroom
Intuitive design - There's not much more to be said than my 5 year old daughter figured this out on her own before I even told her there was a new toilet seat, let alone a bidet. She even turned on the heated seat and made sure the water was off before leaving it.
Here are my high level takeaways
Pros:
1.) Loaded with features at a great price point
2.) Intuitive design
3.) Great creature comforts (winter is coming)
4.) Easy install - Took about 10 minutes
5.) Illumination for night time utilization
Cons:
1.) Plastic fittings - I can/will replace the splitter but the lack of a metal connection to the unit is the only part I found disappointing

Great Low Profile Bidet Seat That - While Not Perfect - Can Work On A Round Toilet.

After receiving a Toto bidet seat as a Christmas gift, my husband and I have become converts. These things are a total game changer in feeling clean and fresh all day long. With this new “enlightened world view” my husband and I set out to convert all of the remaining toilet seats in our domain. Unfortunately as we began to add up the number of toilets in our two homes and the associated costs we began to consider alternatives. We began reflecting on what features were the most important to us and which ones we could live without. The American Standard was less expensive and looked promising so we decided to purchase it to test and compare with our more expensive Toto. We installed it in the powder room of our main home and we’re pleasantly surprised. While it lacks the features of a remote control, dryer, bowl pre mister, air deodorizer, presets, etc, it has the features that we want and use the most. It also produces a larger spray of water than the Toto which we prefer. It fit great on our powder room’s elongated toilet and we couldn’t have been more happy with our decision.
We also have cottage which has a Kohler Memories round toilet. Since it’s round and not elongated we initially thought that the American Standard wouldn’t work. We strongly prefer the look of a low profile bidet seat (especially on a round bowl) but the only ones we could find were by Toto and they were running around a grand. Having been so pleased with our American Standard bidet seat we took some measurements and decided to take a chance and see if we could make it fit on our round toilet. The installation went great and fits with plenty of room! The bidet seat’s shape isn’t a perfect match for the round bowl but we decided that it matches up well enough for our casual beach cottage and the overall appearance was pretty good.
If American Standard would ever consider making the more perfect round shaped seat available we will replace it in a heartbeat! Until that time we will happily live with this one and possibly upgrade to the more expensive round Toto model down the road once this one has lived out it’s useful existence.
Since I wasn’t able to find any photos of this American Standard seat mounted to a round toilet I’ve added a few shots to this review so people can see what it looks like.

Easy to install, took me approx 35 min .With one exception that i think could use an improvement. The tee connector that attaches to to water supply is plastic and if someone is not careful, you could cross the threads and make the fitting useless.
The features that this seat offers are fantastic. Heated water and heated and lighted seat are well made and easily controlled. The water spay is very effective for both front and rear and works well.

I would recommend that to anyone who who would like the cleaning that it offers.
My only advice to American Standard is that the price could be a little lower and i think more people would get the benefit of using this product.

It has a very nice spray on it. Gentle yet effective.
Only issue is toilet seat is kinda small, close to a round toilet seat. Also there is a small rised lip on the edge which kinda gets uncomfortable. BUT the spray is so nice, hits the right spot without making a huge splashy mess and without getting an enema.

Had picked up a round version from Genie Bidet a couple years ago and can compare the kits (though perhaps genie bidet has improved since then). Basically, this looks like all the other bidet seats of the same variety. Same lever, same markings, etc. The things that made This stand out from the Genie Bidet round model was the hardware. The mounting bracket, bolts, and adjustable spacers are basically identical. The inserts for the American Standard seat, however, or a higher-quality rubber, rather than the hard plastic ones provided with the genie bidet seat. The plastic inserts did not allow for a firm attachment and the seat would move if you were sitting on it and it shifted your weight. I ended up having to use the bolts and the plastic threaded nuts for the genie bidet version. The rubber inserts for the American Standard seat have brass threading and once you get the insert in (a bit of a challenge), they fasten up very snugly without the need for the threaded nuts. That said, if you do need the traditional bolt/nut setup, the nuts provided in this kit appear to be a higher quality plastic, also with the brass threading in the interior, less likely to strip the threads as might happen with the fully plastic ones that came with the genie bidet seat. Again, it’s possible that the hardware kits have been upgraded for the other brand since the time of purchase, so take this with a grain of salt.
Be advised if you’re new to bidets, this is cold tap water! You will get accustomed to it but a cold booty spray could also be used to help wake you up in the morning!
The seat was easy to install and there were no leaks on the first attempt, which is always great to see.
Why 4 stars and not five? Having come from one of the fancy electric seats that finally gave up the ghost, the wider spacing on the wands is noticeable during use. For example, while using the rear wash, you effectively have to scoot a little bit over to make sure that the stream is hitting you where you need it to, to flush the seal, so to speak. This is where having a secure seat is key. If you are shifting around to try and get a good spray, you don’t want the seat to be sliding around on the bowl. Thankfully that’s not the case with this seat. That said, the wands on the electric bidet that we had were so closely spaced, that you didn’t have to move around to “center up“, so to speak, on the spray. Additionally, it’s possible that the wands on the electric version also have the nozzles rotated slightly in to avoid the need to shift around. While you can apparently pull off the heads of these nozzles to clean or replace them, it would be great if these wands could be slightly adjustable to angle them in to account for being a bit more widely spaced than other bidet seats. Also, and this appears to have been remedied with the seats by Alpha Bidet, but the front/back symbols and lever directions are a bit counterintuitive. e.g., turning the lever back should be for the rear spray while forward should be for the feminine spray. Not a dealbreaker, but you would think that would have been a natural design decision to make. Lastly, the mounting bracket and mechanism just barely worked to get a good fit on our American Standard Cadet 3 dual flush toilet using the rubber inserts to mount the seat. The seat almost mounted a bit too far back and that was with the mounting bracket installed as far forward as possible. The traditional nut/bolt mounting might have given it some extra play, but I was able to finally get the seat mounted without looking as though it was sitting further back on the bowl than a traditional seat would. Also, keep in mind that most seats like this, mechanical or electric, require room behind the mounting holes to be fully functional, like having the lid and seat stay up. I didn’t notice any specs for these mechanical seats, but I believe Brondell wants at least 1.5” to 2” of space between the mounting holes and the tank for their electric wand-based bidets. Keep that in mind for these seats as well. The seat feels a bit flat and level compared to the Brondell electric seat, which has more of a downward slope from the back to front of the seat. That slope, while taking some getting used to affords a lid that has a similar slope, which I believe gives it a bit more room for the lid and seat to go back. Both the lid and seat on the American Standard seat are more level, which is why the space between the mounting holes on the bowl and the tank will be important to attend to in getting this seat to work appropriately in terms of the lid and seat being put up and staying up. Hopefully that makes sense.
Beyond that, I would recommend pulling the flow regulator. I found the pressure to be a bit low and the lever allows you to effectively determine how much pressure you get, so I don’t see the need to have the regulator installed. The extra pressure is also more effective in getting your seal fully flushed. Sorry to get graphic, butt if you have a softer BM, getting it fully flushed out will mean you won’t have any extra grit or sediment that can eek it’s way out after the fact and cause irritation back there. The extra water pressure can help with that.
In sum, this appears to be a great replacement for a more expensive bidet that used a similar wand mechanism, although it required electricity to run. After we had purchased our expensive electric seat, I had wondered if anyone had come up with a similar idea that simply operated off of water pressure. Sure enough, someone had taken the idea and ran with it. If you can’t afford the more expensive electric seats, this is a great alternative that far surpasses the separate bidet attachments that dip down into the bowl and are fastened under your traditional seat (tried one of those too). Get one of these seats and you will wonder how and why you ever went without one before! You will get a much better cleaner bottom and you will use a lot less toilet paper as well.
