The thin flat washer they provide with the unit (see picture) does not work to provide a good seal. I ended up having to go to the hardware store and purchasing a rubber cone washer (see circled picture). That fixed the leak and now all is good. Likes: - The water is instantly warm. - Easy to install. - It has an oscillation function – moves wand back and forth to cover a larger area. - You can save custom settings for two people. Dislikes: - Had to purchase a better washer to stop the leak. - I wish it had a dedicated deodorizer button. If you want to use the deodorizer, you have to put it on automatic mode. This turns the deodorizer fan on every time you sit on the seat. I want the deodorizer on only when I need it. Read Less

UPDATE Dec 14 , 2016 Toto replaced my seat thanks to this lovely lady Kristen 1-888-295-8134 ext. 1347 Every company should have people like her on the top to make our shopping experience and our problems with the products more pleasant ! Apparently the issues with the gear piece have been addressed by TOTO QA and Engineering and it is a better design . Apparently the issues with the gear piece have been addressed by TOTO QA and Engineering and it is a better design . Time will tell , but at the moment I am very pleased that this problem got looked into and finally somebody stood up for the customer! I said before No Toto ever again ,well after this good experience I have to say give them a chance because without any question Japanese inventions are superior and I never doubted that, my problem was the customer service , and now that changed for the better to :) I got this Bidet about 3 years ago brand new from eBay (No warranty unfortunately). The problem started shortly after one year the nozzle or cleaning wand started making weird noises and didn't function properly ,sometimes it didn't come out or got stuck halfway . I have some technical skills so i opened it up to find out that in the wand is a zip tie looking plastic gear band that operates the nozzle gears in and out functions was coming apart ,meaning the plastic band had a steel wire in the middle i guess from the stress being created by the in and out movement halfway slid out from it. I think the plastic was molded around the wire so it was physically impossible to push it back,that created obstacles in the movement and only solution was to cut it away (or replace it),i did that, i cut it so everything went back to normal operation ,but i was waiting for the final moment of its life because I figured one day will give up but lasted two years, today 2016 Feb.15 the band broke now. To make this long story short :) i called Toto USA costumer service, got the parts department and to my not to big surprise they won't supply any parts for their products ,i told the parts person that basically it would take five minutes to put it together and would operate just as good as brand new if they're willing to sell the parts( probably Max $10) ,but that is a big NO NO! You have to send it back which means a steep postage fee from Canada and obviously a pretty penny to get it fixed, I would think in a ballpark of 500 + Cad. No way after the washlet steep price i wouldn't even consider throwing out not even 200 (which probably the postage would cost considering the size and must be registered and express shipping label back and forth ) !So do yourself a favor and don't buy a product for which the service is terrible and you can't even buy a screw and for a $10 piece the whole $1500 piece is useless unless you're willing to pay their technicians yearly ...$ to keep it going (By the way warranty won't cover shipping so either way you pay). Research for a product for which you can get parts because whose to say that you're not allowed or can't fix it yourself if you CAN ! Read Less

I purchased this unit in Jan 2015 and as of July 2017 it is malfunctioning: the cleaning wand is erratic in coming out so that the wash function may fail to work at all, there may be poor water flow, or the flow is misdirected. The wand cleaning function causes the unit to spray water out into the bathroom in a fountain stream! Lovely. Toto only offers repair in California, meaning a large bill for shipment to and from Canada, and a substantial flat fee for the repair itself. Not financially rea... Read More

After sales service is terrible from this company in Canada. This is my fifth Toto Washlet and it will be my last. Only one of the five still functions properly and I calculate that the average lifespan has been less that 3 years for the four that have failed.
