For 15 years, we've had a "bidetmatic" purchased in Argentina, where bidets are a part of everybody's bathroom. Argentinians take their bidets seriously, and they have a separate bidet, which is the size of a toilet next to the toilet. The bidetmatic was their solution to creating an attachment for smaller bathrooms or people who just didn't want an entirely separate appliance in their bathroom. For the past several decades, I've had some serious GI problems, and as a result of this, I became a fundamentalist user of the bidetmatic, struggling mightily whenever I had to travel to places that did not have a bidet. So when my right arm was immobilized due to surgery, I was in crisis, unable to use my right-handed bidetmatic. I read all the reviews online and concluded that this was the one. Genie Bidet was going to join our household. Living with a right-handed bidet but in need now of a left-handed bidet I had to make the shift. After 15 years of faithful service by my bidetMatic, I upgraded reluctantly. The genie bidet attachment immediately stood out as an attractive addition to the toilet, not just a mechanical functional industrial attachment like my Argentinian model. It uses a different approach than the Argentinian one, which is a metal swing arm variety. The genie bidet is one that shoots water from the back of the toilet forward. I was skeptical about its aim, but I've since learned that it is spot on. To cut to the chase, this new bidet is a huge benefit to me with my arm in a sling for the next 2 1/2 months and a surprisingly upscale and attractively functional addition to our bathroom. It is effortless to use, provides a great focused stream of water that hits the bullseye every time, and has an easy-to-use and attractive handle perfectly positioned for my left hand. My initial panic about going three months without a bidet is over I always intended to use this temporarily until my right arm was better, at which point it was going to be my intention to switch back to the original bidetmatic from Argentina for nostalgic reasons. But this one is such a significant upgrade to the older model that I can't imagine switching it back at this point. Now, the discussion in my head is whether to replace the other Argentine bidetmatic in the other toilet with another one of these models. The prices are good enough that the temptation is high. I did struggle with my genie bidet installation. The unit comes with the proprietary water line hookups and t-valves that are both attractive and I presume quite functional. But that would require a full replacement of all water lines to the toilet, and given that I had a tight squeeze back there and one arm that didn't work, this was going to be a big effort. I can see that If you are starting from scratch in that, this is your first bidet attachment such that you currently only have one water line going from the main to the toilet, then using their proprietary hookups would be precisely what you want to do even though it requires emptying the water tank during your installation. The installation is not that difficult, and within 20 minutes, the average person would be able to do the job themselves even if they've never done such a job before. But in my case, I was replacing an older bidet with this one and, moreover, doing it with one hand. Because I was doing a replacement, I already had the T valve installed, and with water lines that were at least several decades old, I was concerned about messing around if I didn't need to. It took me approximately $15 and a trip to the hardware store to Frankenstein a dedicated connection between the T valve I have on my main and the new bidet. See photo. This installation requires a water line hose and two adapters to connect to the bidet. Thus, I bypassed the replacement of the line to the toilet altogether....and voila. a one-handed replacement. In other words, although Genie Bidet provides proprietary water lines, they don't provide a simple water line option that would hook from the water main to the bidet directly without going through the T valve Once I got all the pieces I needed from the hardware store, the installation itself took 5 minutes, and it has been pure bliss ever since. I am completely sold now on this bidet, and when my arm is better, I'll replace the other one in the other bathroom, and the old bidets will get cleaned up and brought to the thrift store. TLDR: This bidet is easy to install, won't break the bank, looks nice, and WORKS! 10/10 would purchase again! Read on for my reasoning: About a week ago, I was delivered terrible news, by email, that I would not be receiving my bidet for two weeks past the initial delivery date. As disappointed as I was, I opted not to cancel the order. I had been hearing nothing but positive feedback from bidet users, for years, and "it's high time I checked into it," I thought, as I deleted the email containing my option to cancel. I'm so happy I trusted my judgement! A few days later, I received another email, informing me that my bidet had been shipped, and by next day air! These fine folks went the extra mile to make sure I was going to get this thing ASAP. The delivery arrived on Friday, still within the original delivery window! I'm thrilled with this company's customer service! Upon opening the box, I found everything present, and in perfect condition (including the product's packaging). There are very few pieces included, due to the super functional, simplistic design. You get the bidet and brackets, the hose that feeds it, and a T-connector. They also include a new water line to replace the old, crusty one, that probably came with your domicile. Installation was an absolute breeze! If I hadn't gutted my commode at the same, it might have taken a half hour, at most. The installation brackets make correctly placing the unit very simple. However, the bidet is obviously heavier on one end, so it will slide around slightly during installation. Some may want to enlist a helping hand to reinstall the seat, but I was able to do this on my own with just the tiniest bit of finesse. Also, this thing is very low profile, and I DID NOT need to purchase risers for the front of the seat (see photo)! I had no trouble at all replacing, and connecting the water supply lines. I hope this goes without saying, but make sure your water is turned off, first and foremost! After installation, I made sure there were no leaks, and tested the unit on my hand. It worked! Now for the real test! But alas, Nature was silent at the moment. I never wanted to poop so bad in my life... ...Fast forward to this morning: The time had come! I was finally able to see what all the hype was about, and let me tell you, it's not hype, it's facts! Now, I'm a 6'1", about 200lbs metal head, and my initial reaction was this small, high pitched "ooh?!" of intrigue. I love it already! I'm going to save so much money on toilet paper... Read Less

The seat was incredibly easy to install, I replaced the old one in about 30 minutes. All of the required hardware is included, all you need is a screwdriver and (maybe) an adjustable wrench (don’t overtighten). It is important to note that you do need to have an electrical outlet nearby. I installed a new one a few weeks ago knowing that I was getting this. The seat itself is comfortable, but you do lose some sitting room and the opening is smaller compared to the regular toilet seat it replace... Read More

The seat was incredibly easy to install, I replaced the old one in about 30 minutes. All of the required hardware is included, all you need is a screwdriver and (maybe) an adjustable wrench (don’t overtighten). It is important to note that you do need to have an electrical outlet nearby. I installed a new one a few weeks ago knowing that I was getting this. The seat itself is comfortable, but you do lose some sitting room and the opening is smaller compared to the regular toilet seat it replaced, because the back part of the seat that houses the electronics and such take up some of the space. It is also simple to use, there are two buttons on left that toggle through low, medium and off settings for the heated seat temperature and water temperature. The dial on the right controls the water flow and ‘aim’ (forwards for front, back for rear and center for ‘off’). The flow isn’t overpowering, but enough to get you clean, and the water warms almost instantly. The sprayer itself is contained when not it use and has a self cleaning system, while the exterior doesn’t appear to be any more difficult to clean than any other seat. It also has a light that automatically illuminates for nighttime visits. My only complaint would be that the cord could be a little longer. I was able to reach mine on the opposite side, but an extra foot or two would’ve been nice so I could tuck it away better. In summary, it may seem a little expensive at first, but when you consider what you pay for a night or two at a fancy hotel compared to something like this that will last you for years of use, I think it is totally worth it. It will also save you money on toilet paper (although you’ll still need some to dry off) and have less impact on your pipes and the environment. It will get you cleaner and the seat heater and warm water are an added comfort. Go ahead and get one…your posterior will thank you later.  Read Less
