BEWARE Durability and Limited Warranty
I have owned a Swash 1400 Luxury Bidet for approximately 2.5 years and was purchased to replace my old Swash 900. The Swash 900 began to leak on the floor after about 2.5 years and was outside of warranty. The Swash 1400 Luxury functions well but has developed mineral deposits around the unit joint which leads me to believe there is an internal leak and will eventually leak on the floor like the old Swash 900. I also use a Brondell branded in line filter. At first, i thought my Swash 900 was a lemon but now with the Swash 1400 problems there is something wrong with the product durability. An appliance that breaks before 3 years is totally unacceptable. Customer Service and Warranty: I reached out to customer service about the Swash 900 and was advised it was outside the one-year limited warranty but was offered a nominal discount on products from the Brondell website. I reached out recently about my Swash 1400 (with pictures of mineral deposits/suspected internal leak) and was advised that i was within the three-year limited warranty but that only 50% of cleaning, diagnosis and repair is covered and i have to ship it out at my cost. (Note: warranty coverage starts at 100% first year, 75% second year etc). I was again offered a nominal discount to purchase a new device on the Brondell website. In both cases customer service was responsive and friendly but the resolution options of covering 50% of an unkown repair or utilizing a discount on new products (that may have the same problems near or just outside of warranty) were not reasonable. Warning to Canadian customers: I purchased my Brondell 1400 bidet from my local Lowes store online. It was cheaper to buy from Lowes than the Brondell website directly (even after the nominal discount for the Swash 900 experience) as Brondell's site is quoted in USD. Also, there is no repair facility in Canada for warranty work so you have to ship your device to San Francisco on your dime. Overall, both bidets worked well when they didnt leak and customer service was responsive. However, an appliance that costs $600+ should last more that 2.5 years without major issues or leak on your floor. Will try another brand in the future.
